AJ Johnson's good heart

Taking pics of good deeds & posting on the net sounds more like a ego thing. Pretty sure dude in the stocking hat didn't request a picture

Man u getting beat up. It's alright some people are to touchy and can't see ur pt. U need a disclaimer sometimes. I think I see it and don't think u are a grinch that doesn't do anything for charity like others do. Ha!!

Who knows the real reason why AJ posted the pic. Most "famous" people don't tend to post the pics they take with people unless they find it amusing in some way...positively or negatively. This type of twitter post would come from the "non-famous" person, but i'm sure he doesn't have a smart phone let alone a twitter acct.

So I see where u are coming from. Cause it's not hard to find pics of young people taking pics of themselves with homeless people, and it's not for a good cause. Heck I have a few drunken versions of those. I'm no charity hating grinch but I didnt give them food or money. Just a good laugh the next morning over bfest with buddies. So again I see ur pt.

I'm going to go with he only posted it cause of the guy offering him his UT hate and him telling him he has plenty. I'm going with him not taking the pic if it was a simple here's some MickeyDs.."God Bless" moment.

All assumptions of course. That's why this is being read into way to much. Now like I said in a previous post if he would have tweeted what he originally did and hashtagged..."let's find his next of Kin for xmas volnation" then it would be deserving of great praise and even a tear on my end.

Just all imho of course...

Where have I said I hate Jones?? R u seriously calling me out with all the Dooley hate that goes through here on a daily basis. My comment has nothing to do with Dooley. So simmer it down bud. It has to do with acting like he has anything to do with AJ giving a homeless guy in a UT hat food. The kid is solid before CBJ graced his life.

Now that u want to take it there though...would u give Dooley credit for recruiting and bringing a kid like AJ to UT??? Or does ur hate filled miserable life not allow u to swallow that pill.

At the end of the day the Dooley era is the only fair comparison to the CBJ era. Like it or not it's the truth. People like to over exaggerate the dooley eras issues because of their hate. So I like to correct it. One reason is that this place would bore me if i didn't, but mainly I don't want this place to do the same thing it did to dooley to CBJ. The Legion of the Miserable was in force the last few yrs. I want UT to succeed just as much as u and every other Vol fan.

Look, it just starts to feel like every thread you post in turns into a Dooley vs Jones debate/argument...i.e. Dooley can do no wrong, and Jones can do no right. How do any of us know that Jones/staff has no affect on the players character? Isn't the ideal of coaches helping these kids mature and grow into quality young men generally a consideration when families choose where their child will attend a school? Again, I'm not giving ALL credit here to Jones, but I'm also not going to say he and his staff have no influence at all.

Yes, I do, and have given Dooley credit where it's due regarding recruiting...although from what we've read and heard, as positive as his national recruiting was at times, he and his staff caused harm to UT's instate recruiting...and with seemingly limited instate D1 talent, we need all the help we can get to keep quality Tn athletes at home.

I am not one who believes Dooley has no redeemable qualities. It's just my personal opinion that he makes a much better administrator than an on field coach.

Just my 2¢ worth...

Go Vols!!!

Let's put a moratorium on praise for players that weren't 100% Butch recruits...unfortunately that includes Sutton and Carr...if they save a family from a fire or help deliver in the birth of our next President...it was probably values instilled by our former coach...in short THINK BEFORE YOU PRAISE...Feliz Navidad

No disrespect intended, but come again? What are you saying? Just a little confused on this one. Sutton and Carr?

I understand ur pt about many of my post are dooley related, but please understand I don't post much. I read threads when I have down time. (And I read the entire thread completely before I even post.) So usually the thing that gets me posting are comments that people feel that need to be made about the dooley era. Like I said I get bored so I call them out on it. Sometimes get no response cause its BS hater talk or I snag a fish and I get into a discussion about it. Either works for me.

But let's be honest...I made no mention at all about dooley nor did I bash CBJ in my original post. Just taken that way. The fact that the OP made it a sticking pt that it shows what kind of men CBJ is making....really?? What's that saying that dooley didn't do the same?? Or his parents?? Or his HS coach??

Anyway..i understand ur issue with dooley and TN HS coaches but seriously let's be honest...if UT had a full squad with not a single TN athlete on but was winning...would it be an issue for anyone?? Imo..NO. TN doesn't have enough talent historically to field a team worth a lick. Throw that in with second news from HS coaches that need the big schools to pay attention to them people are going to get pissed and bring the drama. Frankly I don't care if he didn't kiss every coaches butt. HS coaches have their hands out wanting something or other too. He did well enough to get in with solid players and some TN players as he signed a few. It may just be me but I take the word of MzTerry, the Croomsters mom, over every single one of those coaches combined. She loved her some dooley, and she isn't one to not speak her mind.

So it's funny how people really think it's some special dooley love. It's not. It's my love for UT that I want to make sure the same thing doesn't happen to CBJ, because it is going to. This fan base will bite it's nose off to spite it's face. Point blank. We saw how it just happened, and history will repeat itself if it's not called out.

I think it is awesome that AJ did that for this man. It shows that he is a good person and cares about the welfare of others. I do see some of the points that people are making about taking the picture and putting his good deed on Twitter, however. In our church, we are taught the importance of helping others whenever possible without drawing attention to yourself. You do things for people because you want to rather than doing it to show everybody what you did and trying to prove you are a good person. Was I aware of that when I was in college? Lord no. This is not something I learned until I was well into my 30's. And beyond that, AJ may not have been posting the picture trying to show people that he had done a good deed. I think it was really cool that the guy offered him his hat.

Same here. Matthew 25: 31-46..."whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’'

None taken...always appreciate a fan :)...if you ever follow any of my posts, you understand I take the Coen Brothers approach and don't explain everything as I make a point...or punchline...Sutton and Carr were recruited by Dooley...so if they do something great or noble...it was a response to a poster we know and love...there's always collateral damage when I gig said poster...go back 4 posts
