The way I see it.. every school had the right to ask a recruit to camp. The school is about to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars in his education and as a football player. If a kid wants to get butt hurt, then honestly I think he should move on.

No one, and I mean no one is above the program. If your ego won't allow you to participate in a camp when requested then it's on you.

Personally, If I had serious interest in a school and they asked me to camp, then I would camp. The only way it would hurt you as a recruit is if you had a poor performance.

It also helps the recruit to interact with his future coaches, get a feel for how things will operate.

Post is well thought out and logical.

I agree. My post was more about the post I was quoting saying this kid should be offended that Alabama is making him wait and move on. And how we say the opposite about our own instate kids.

Good points. Camps also help your development; doing drills with and against other top HS players, getting critique and pointers from various college position coaches.

Muschamp and his history with putting together monster defenses, probably. And he has some good recruiters on his staff.

TRob, the DB coach and DC, at USCjr is a great recruiter. The kids love him and they probably respect Muschamp, too

I agree with most of that except the investment part. Room and board is all the school invests. Aside from that its a seat in a classroom that already existed taught by a teacher already paid

You are not thinking about another deserving student that probably better qualifies for that space. Athletes are not entitled and should not be treated as such. That is how we created the situation we have with the NFL.

If he wants to qualify for a valuable scholarship then he should put forth the effort to do so. Just like everyone else.

Schools also pay coaches and huge support staffs MILLIONS of dollars to train, coach, mentor, and otherwise guide these student athletes. We invest more than just a classroom seat in these young men and women.
