‘23 AL DL Hunter Osborne (Alabama commit)

Is safe to say Clemson is out since its past the deadline they wanted OR since Faulk chose OU they will tuck their tail and still take him August? Either way, sounds like a good ole UT vs UT battle
I wondered about that.

I like it. But there is the consideration that that argument supposes that Dabo doesn't lie. 😂

OK has oil money. They will be hanging around. Bama is the team going down.

Lol. Why do you say this? Why do people think this? It’s just like people saying Clemson is going down because Dabo doesn’t like NIL. It’s not happening. You are fooling yourself. Until Saban retires, Bama is the king of the hill.

Instate kids and 3-stars for the most part

They have 18 commits. 3(5*), 9(4*) and 6(3*). Doesn’t matter if it’s instate guys or not. And how is that a class made up mostly of 3* players? Also, Arch committed on 6/23. Since then they have had 9 commits. 4(3*), 3(3*) and 2(5*).

Seems like Arch is having a heck of an effect on recruiting.

They have more 3* committed this year than all of last cycle. They’re recruiting the same as pre-Arch

They already have more 5* than last year and it’s July. They have gotten their highest rated commits AFTER Arch committed. They are also trending with quite a few more blue chip recruits.

Bringing up last year? Last year their per recruit average was 91.17 (at the end of the cycle). Currently it’s 91.54. And like I said it’s only July. But yeah keep on thinking Arch isn’t having an effect on TX recruiting.

Most of the kids that committed were already considered Texas leans. They just happened to commit in this year's commit hotspot of July. I'm sure Arch had some effect, but most of those kids were already expected to go to Texas anyway

Need consdirably more depth (experience) or an easier schedule to get to 9 wins this year.

We play 2 playoff teams from last year,

the defending ACC champions.

And two programs that have won multiple National Championships since ous in 1998 and have multiple SEC titles. Both these teams have good coaches at the helm now and have better rosters than us.

7-5. 8-5 if we have some guys stay through the bowl game.

That's damn good progress imo.

The same amount of 3* and 4* have committed since Arch.

More 3* have committed since Arch than 5*.

So yes I will go on thinking they are recruiting the same.

More like zero progress.

I think Bama will decline while under Saben at some point. He will stick around too long and it’s just at some point he will have a few meh years back to back. Not saying they will crash and burn. But at some point they will have back to back 9-3 seasons and that would be sky is falling territory for them lmao

I think Bama's (and other bigees) success rate will go down due to NIL costing them players where an array of schools will over pay some of the creme of the crop. They will drop down their list and still do well, just not as well and some schools will close ground. The rich just won't be as rich. I think that issue will be compounded by the One Time Portal where they will lose some GREAT players that don't want to wait and therefore they will not be as deep with experience. They will backfill SOME through the portal as well, but continuity will be impacted.

Agreed. NIL is already hurting them. As disgruntled as Saban is about it, I could see him retiring in the next couple years. Alabama won't be able to compete with these big money schools and it will absolutely cost them recruits. The decline is coming in Tuscaloosa. Maybe not this year, maybe not next, but it's coming and I think it's coming sooner than later.

I’ll take that bet.

When he retires it’ll be bc he’s old as dirt. 70 already.

Saban was the most vocal about being anti-spread and hurry up offense. Now they’re one of the best at it in the country. He complains but he adapts and he’ll do it again.
