'24 AL EDGE Jordan Ross (Tennessee)

They make a wish list. Then hear positive things and think it’s a done deal. Then get disappointed. Then take it out on us!

Seriously, I used to make a list and get so disappointed even if we had a really good class. I try to just focus on who we get now. Especially with them coming and going through the portal much less how long it is until December.

Plus Heup puts an awesome product on the field. There is literally zero to complain about. We get to watch him build and win a bunch of games (with the most exciting style of play in the country) while doing so.

People are free to complain if they choose. But seems like a sad way to experience the current state of the program.

I've always said, they'll be talking about Butch Jones on the night we win a National Championship, the ilk that is now "concerned" and "worried", or have questions.

I tell you, right now, I have a great big ole ****** smile on my face, thinking about having a top 10 program at this point, Rocky Top becoming a literal kingdom, a Camelot, we're about to jump closer to the top 5 in recruiting, and the season starts in two weeks...need I continue? I don't think I have to.

I'll lose my big fat smile, get concerned AND worry the moment we only avg 35 a game, and win 7.

Ross Okoye Lindstrom and Gentle

That’s a lot of sacks on deck
Maybe Fountain, as well...if we can continue to worm our way back in that one. Sounds good, so far. Ever since he committed, I've thought we'd have a chance to flip him; just like I think Bama or Auburn have a good chance to flip Ross, even though I expect his commitment.

Man. We haven't had this much talented depth on the front 7 of the defense since the 90's.

This is awesome.

We definitely aren't even close to the 90's/ Early 2000's level front 7, atleast not yet. Guys like Wilson, Haynesworth, Ellis, Henderson, Little,Thompson, Overstreet, Simon, Burnett, St. PREUX, Bartholomew, R. MOORE,, Hand, Veal, Franklin, Walker, Haralson, Mahelona, Harrell to name just a few are tough levels to get back to. Those guys were TN defense!

I love Huepel and you’re entitled to your opinion. But the record shows Georgia ate our lunch and we had one of if not the best offense last year.

This is something I just don’t get…I’ve seen so many people talk about that game like it was a blowout…yes, their All World D full of future 1st and 2nd rounders shut our O down in a way that nobody else could all year…and yet there we were at mid field half way through the 4th quarter driving with a chance to tie…all of this in crappy conditions in one of the most hostile environments in the sport…how does that equate to “eating our lunch” or “blowing us out”?

Not to mention their coaches admitted they held our receivers on every play and relied on the refs not calling it every play.

Batholomew? The fullback or the TE?

You also named a bunch of guys over a 15 year span. Great names, but it’s not like they all played at the same time.

I know some have wondered why Auburn and Alabama aren’t really a factor. Ross wants to leave the state.
It's not the first time the #1 prospect in Alabama has left the state in recent years. Off the top of my head, George Pickens was the #1 player in Bama a couple of years back and went to UGA. It happens, but it will be nice to see us with the #1 prospect in multiple states including our own again this year.

we averaged over 40 pts a game last year.

they held us to 13....the blow out wasn't reflective in the score as much as it was in that they were able to dictate to us, what would happen when we had the ball. nobody else even came close to doing what they did for an entire game.

and offensively, they were able to play keep away, and salt away minute after minute. the word blow out is probably the wrong word. they controlled the game and were able to dictate how the game was going to go on both sides of the ball. it was a weird game....we were never out of it, but it didn't feel like we were gonna win it either.

i'm going to the game this year for my 50th. hope we're able to learn from last year and make this year the happiest of birthdays......

Justyn Ross went to Clemson. And just this year, Cameron Coleman is committed to aTm.
