‘23 AL OT Stanton Ramil (Michigan St. commit)

Auburn is a horrible job. Their administration is a mess. The team is currently a mess. You'll always be considered the second best program in the state as well.
Our program was a mess two years ago also and even more so before Danny White was hired and started to use a broom to sweep out the dysfunction. A lot of you might disagree, but the SEC west and the SEC as a whole is better when AU, LSU and a couple of the lower programs are doing better than just bama. Just like our program now, it creates excitement for our conference and for our teams.

But they were relevant. Nowhere what they are now. I remember a time as an older Vol fan (stfu Invol, Weezer and Glitch) that it was a big game matchup for us.
I would argue that Auburn is still relevant. They just haven’t been very good lately. They haven’t bottomed out like we did over the last 12 years though.

Fair, but as long as they stay the course and don’t change at head coach, they’ve become irrelevant. Harsin was a dead man walking last season and it looks like they’re taking the slow walk to the firing line.

They just gave Franklin a big extension. He isn't going anywhere.
They will if he loses 3-4 games. Matt Rhule is a significant upgrade from him and unlike us Penn State isn’t paying 3-4 coaches at the same time. So buying his contract out isn’t that big of a financial hit. Plus with the coaching carousel that’s going to happen this off-season Franklin will likely get another job and Penn State. So that will help them with their buyout

Why would he even consider another job? If they fired him, they would owe him $72 million. No, they are not going to fire him. That number only drops to $64 million if they fired him next year.

I don't see the big deal about Matt Rhule. He was a hot name for what he did at Baylor, but I'd argue Aranda has had as much success, if not more, after taking over that program. And Rhule was horrible in the NFL. I'm not saying he can't be decent, but I think he's overhyped. He's not the second coming of Nick Saban.

He did well at Temple before Baylor, but I don't think he is a sure thing.

Matt Rhule was fired from the NFL when they gave him Baker to play QB.

I think the team that Rhule took over at Baylor made the rebuild more impressive. The only program that was at a lower point than that Baylor team over the last 20 years was Penn St after Sandusky.

There are lot of decent coaches to be hired if a team would be hiring one this year, luckily we aren't one of them. If I'm a AD my first phone call is LukeFickell, he has to see UC isn't what they were the last 2 years and the Big12 move is going to be hard to get them established. Then I would call Rhule, Leopold, and Bill O'Brien in that order.

The only coaching change we will be effected by is our OC leaving.

Baker didn’t get him fired.
His inability to coach or take accountability for anything got him fired. Mix that with his record and you have all You need.

5-11 and 5-12 pre-Baker

Sam Darnold. He never had a solution at QB. With Parity in the NFL, it all comes down to QB and you have less control forming your team in the Pros than you do college. A lot of successful college coaches don't work in the NFL. I wouldn't be worried about that if I were a college AD.

Two totally different situations. Rhule took over after Grobe was the interim after the Briles fallout. Basically, he had to rebuild it. Aranda took over a 11-3 team. I don't know what he inherited, but it's not the same.

There aren't many coaches that are really ever a "for sure" thing. However, I wouldn't really care what someone does in the NFL. Personnel is a totally different deal, and there are good coaches who are average or below in the NFL.

I wouldn’t either, just pointing out that Baker didn’t get him fired

So I never ****ing said a word about him going to Auburn. The other poster said what if they hired Rhule, they being Auburn. The other poster asked ”Michigan State” and I clarified that he was talking about Auburn. Speaking of things that will Probably never change about Volnation……. internet big mouths who start typing without the basic ability to follow along in the thread.
People get mixed up a lot when multiple recruits start being mentioned in the same thread. It was pretty clear that Wedin is the one interested in Auburn.

The mystery is that I was talking clearly talking about Rhule and neither OL. Then he shot his mouth off, then when he got called on it he flat out lied and said he knew I wasn’t talking about Ramil going to Auburn when he almost word for word made fun of me for it. It was pretty annoying and I was already in a mood to begin with.

Easy. I was referring collectively to the entire Auburn discussion re: Ramil. Yours just happened to be the last post about it. I know you weren’t saying he’s going to Auburn.

No you weren’t. You nearly word for word made fun of me for implying that a guy who wouldn’t let his kid go to Tennessee would let him go to Auburn. I can quote the post if you like. Not keeping up with the thread is bad enough. Lying about what got said is way worse. Also pretty sad that 12-13 idiots came along and liked your post. 🙄🙄🙄🙄
