Yeah kind of a strange comment from him. It's not a big deal if he is recruiting for Bama as long as it wasn't on our campus.

It's going to take game film of TN offense this season to pull this kind of flip. Not going to flip without seeing more of the system.

Maybe but it's certainly possible. A few days ago the reports were his dad is pushing him to visit UT, there's been serious recruiting going on behind the scenes, this was suppose to be a secret visit. Now we get one sentence from VQ saying he left UT back to Bama to recruit for the Tide? Yeah, ok.


Either way, my take is much more fun than crying about QB recruiting and thinking Tyson Helton is a buffoon.

Nobody is crying and nobody is calling Helton a buffoon that I’ve seen. But something is clearly wrong with our QB recruiting

You don't know that. You don't know their strategies. You're assuming. Just because you want a QB on the commitment list and will take just about anyone at this point to check the box and lower your anxiety about the process doesn't mean Helton feels the same way.

Whats wrong with our QB recruiting strategy is that there are no great prospects in this class. Simple as that. If we don't take one at all I will be fine with it. Then get a big time one next year like Bailey.

That’s ridiculous. QBs aren’t like other positions. They’re coming off the board much earlier. We didn’t pursue Howell and he went to FSU. We didn’t make Calzada a priority and he went to atm. Most other top QBs are already committed except for Clark and I don’t think we’re a factor there. Seems like the staff is all in on Taulia and if he doesn’t flip then we’re going to have to scramble to find someone in 2019, try to convince someone to flip, or take a juco next year or another grad transfer.

Then, even in the 2020 class Bailey, the top QB in the county right now and a guy who clearly likes TN, has said we aren’t recruiting him that hard. You don’t find that odd?

QB recruiting has been strange to say the least.

Bailey never said that. Vq said we weren't putting all our eggs in the bailey basket and people assumed that means we're not recruiting him.

Bailey did say that. Said TN wasn’t recruiting him that hard and that Michigan was recruiting him much harder

Think about this for a second...Jeremy Pruitt, up to this point has done everything right, has recruiting rolling strong, multiple 5 stars looking to join the '19 class and team up with Morris, adding integral pieces to the '18 team to compete day one on the field, etc...do you really think these guys are just dropping the ball on QB recruiting, or don't have a plan? You really think you and I know enough to be critical of a group of coaches who seem to be crushing it in all other areas and have rings all over their hands?

What if Price is helping make everything go low key again, by taking our view off of Taulia?

This coaching staff wouldn't be hard recruiting this guy if they didn't think they had a shot.

Also, we have plenty of guys who are commits and still attending camps, I would only assume they are actively recruiting for us as well. So you know it balances out.

No worries here.

You’re overreacting. I said QB recruiting has been strange. Guys are going off the board. Who is left? It is okay to be critical. Recruiting everywhere else has been awesome but we are struggling at QB. To say that we aren’t is to ignore the facts. Maybe they feel like Taulia will flip. If so, that’s awesome and would show that they did the right thing focusing on him. But if he doesn’t flip then what? It is okay to have questions about QB recruiting. Doesn’t mean that you’re being negative or don’t trust the staff. Clearly in other threads I have expressed my support and trust in coach Pruitt. Relax. It doesn’t have to be all sunshine and rainbows all the time.

We need a QB in the 2019 class. I hope you’re right about QB in the 2020 class, but who knows? If we’re struggling with QB in 2019 I hope we don’t continue it in 2020. apparently Michigan wants Bailey more than us even tho it seems like he likes UT a lot. Again, it’s strange
