I don't play head games or troll. I don't get emotional about recruiting. And I don't get "scared" about tough competition. I love competitive games between really good teams.

Sure you do. When you hang around making sure that we know that there are 'objective' sources that 'prove' that TT is solid to Bama, that's exactly what you are doing. So answer my question: why did TT and family make the trip if they are 100% to Bama? They can talk to their buddy Pruitt by phone or Skype. No need to visit and cause drama.

This is what I keep forgetting. We could win 10 or we could win 5. We could be competitive and show promise or we could get blown out a few times. If we suck, the guys we lead with will have doubts. If we are great, the guys we are behind with will have more interest. There’s a wide range of possibilities this season so there’s likely a wide range of possibilities in recruiting.

That's right, imo. The perception of the outlook for UT's program as the season plays out will likely have a big impact on UTs recruiting success. And that perception will vary among the recruits. And the extent that it matters to recruits relative to their other decision criteria will also vary. It's silly to broad brush apply the same set of assumptions in trying to guesstimate the chances of landing a given recruit. It's very hard to project at this point how UT, a high profile program in rebuild mode with a new HC and staff, is going to finish in recruiting.

Edit: However, I will state that marker is almost always right whenever he says something and if he is saying Bogle is a silent commit, I will take it that he is.

Marker also stated that Taulia is a Longshot and too just keep following it.

I agree Marker does seem to have connections. And I also think it's possible Bogle could be a silent to UT. I saw a post last night from a Bama poster who appears to have connections saying that Thibodeaux is a silent commit to Bama. Maybe both of those guys are silent commits.

Yep. That's my post. A lot of VN posters do that. They don't want to hear anything that isn't 100% sunshine pumping. Imo, the reality is that UT appears to be a very legit contender for Crouch, Wright, Bogle and To'oto'o. But I don't think those guys are locks for UT like a lot of VN posters believe and continually proclaim. And I don't think UT has much chance at all of flipping Taulia or Pappoe. Could UT sign a top 5 class? Maybe so. We'll see.

This is a Vols fan board,for Vols to be fanatics. It's a place where we have fun by calling EVERY highly rated recruit a "VOL".
Now here comes the tricky part so try to pay attention. We offer 50 to 75 highly rated recruits a year and can only take 25. So, even if we were capable of landing only 4 and 5 stars, we still couldn't take every one that we call "VOL". So the fact that it's just something we have fun with and not literal, should be obvious to anyone capable of simple math. It's becoming apparent that excludes you.

Tbh, I don't have an attitude of arrogance or any intent of being patronizing toward UT or Vols fans. But A LOT of VN posters assume and imagine that I do.

I will say, Tidal is always cordial and brings info and just gives his opinion on things. From what I’ve seen it’s never patronizing. I don’t know why other VN posters are so quick to get defensive and butthurt whenever he brings info or gives his opinion on something that may not be good for TN.

I'm an engineer, and as such value truth over all. But I'm also optimistic. If we're out of it with a player, I want to know that. If there is a chance, I like hearing the upside. If I want to hear Bama's bias, I'll go to a Bama site. If that is the equivalent of funneling orange koolaide, then so be it.
