He had 11 carries over the last 2 games
Wright success on 5 Carrie’s against Vandy only strengthens my belief in my claim that Wright should be our clear number 1To be fair, that includes a 160 yard game against Vandy in which he only had 5 carries. He’d have received more carries if he hadn’t taken them to the house.
Not sure what happened against SC. Maybe getting behind and having to throw?
Edit: looked it up. Small had 11, Wright had 6 against SC. Not a huge disparity. Looks like Small got his carries early. Then by the time Wright got in, they started chucking it. So I wouldn’t take much from either game. Fix the fumble issues and he’ll get more carries.
He had 2 fumbles in the last 10 games (one was in the downpour in the UGA game) and held onto to the ball pretty well after the first couple of games
Fumbles included...Wright was still clutch.
He ran through Henry T and those Missouri LBs. If you tackle him at his legs you can get him down pretty consistently.
But when's he's running behind his pads and squared up he's a damn demon to tackle.
He's 4.3 fast plus runs with all 205 lbs of himself. He's not big, but he CAN run with great power and speed when he wants to.
Yep. I posted a few times during the season that I thought either he or Sampson could be the guy who gives us a dynamic running threat. Sampson was held back due to lack of understanding of blitz pickups, while Wright was held back due to his fumble issues. I think both of those issues will be corrected by next year (as @allvolrecruiting mentioned, Wright's fumbles became less of a problem as the year went on, indicating that he's fixing it), so I think those two will be the workhorses. And I think they will be studs. I'd look for this offense to be more run-oriented next season, regardless of who the QB is. And I don't think that's a bad thing or that it means we'll take a step back.
I agree with every bit of that.
Whether it's Joe or Nico, we need to feed the backfield even more.
We run a pretty balanced offense. TEs are key. Man we really need to hit homeruns there. Especially for the run game
Doubt Jabari practices much this spring. Opportunity for both to make great strides.Agree. With those TE's in there, even if more run oriented, we can do a lot in the passing game running two TE sets. I like Small a lot, I just think Wright and Sampson have a much higher ceiling. Fix their issues and they'll be our top two backs, but Jabari will still get plenty of carries. It's a nice problem to have.

He also ran 10.8 in the 100 meter as a junior.Hand times mean nothing. Round that up and add .24 is the track conversion for hand timed vs ET. 4.54 sounds about right. But, a RB that is in the legit 4.5 range is still very fast. So much of the 40 is technique. A flying 30 tells you a lot more.
More indicative of his speed is him being the 60m champion, which definitely translates to him being no worse than a low 4.4 guy.He also ran 10.8 in the 100 meter as a junior.
If you're going to add .24 haha then that person has fat fingers...
Not to mention you making a time standard for something that by nature can't have a standard. Hell, just add .13 more while you're at it...
