'21 AL WDE Dylan Brooks (Auburn transfer)

Please. It’s not hard to win here. Butch won 8-9 games twice. We have made terrible hires. Napier May never win a championship but he would win 8 games a year for sure.
The two things I like about Napier is he can recruit like a mofo and he has worked under both Saban and Dabo. So hopefully he can take what he has seen/learned from both of those apply it to his program. Of all the up and coming coaches he is the one I would be most excited about. I just do not want Freeze I'm afraid he is like Bruce Pearl he is a good coach and can win but is always gonna have recruiting violations everywhere he goes. No point in winning if you cant go anywhere at seasons end.

It is for sure a gamble on Freeze. But all would be forgotten if he wins. Even by the media. Shoot they love them some Schiano. But I wouldn’t be upset at all of Napier came here.

I don't think UT's mindset is what you are describing. UT admin and fans alike understand we are not where we want to be and it's going to take some time. I don't think anyone was expecting UT to beat Bama, UF, and UGA this year. I do think we expected to go at least 5-5 by beating USCe, Mizzou, UK, Arkansas, and Vandy and maybe pulling a win out against Auburn, A&M, or one of our three primary rivals. We were not expecting to be subjected to JG single handedly losing games over and over or getting blown out by UK and not being remotely competitive against Bama, UF, or UGA. For me, coming into the season, I expected 6-4 plus or minus 1 win and indications that progress was being made building upon last year's winning streak compiled against some middling teams but still a good accomplishment. I, and I think the AD and most fans, was willing to even extend additional lenience given Covid-19. Accordingly, if Pruitt hadn't trotted out JG over and over again after everyone in the country knew he wasn't the best option and UT hadn't been blown out by UK and won that game (which it should have) and hadn't lost to Arkansas, there is no real discussion of Pruitt being gone. He would've gotten 5-6 years to get this right as the circumstances demand additional time. But year 3 needed to look much different than this even with the Covid-19 disruptions.
I think the fan base as whole expects us to win against those teams by year 3. I don't mean sweep the three of them but at least beat one or two of em a year. I agree with the JG point. I think fans were willing to lose with anyone else at QB, and Pruitt woulda had the benefit of the doubt and not taken the heat he has gotten. I know for me I like the guy and I think he can succeed and hope he does succeeds here. There are a lot of things that he has done that has caused me to push the pause button on him being the guy. The biggest thing seems to be the willingness to play freshman just about anywhere but QB and taking to much stock into how players practice.

I have friends who have known him since he was in elementary school and know his dad. Guy would win here if he gets the support Pruitt has got and certain people will leave him alone to do his job.

LOL, even triggered the guy w/the Ole Miss Coach as his avatar.

But yeah, why would we want a former Nat'l Recruiter of the year w/P5 Head Coach experience that had taken Rutgers (M-F'n Rutgers, the Vanderbilt of the Northeast) that hadn't a single winning season in a decade prior, and ended up with 6 of them his last 7 seasons there and multiple top 25 rankings.

He knew of misconduct and didn’t say a word
He was fired from the DC position at OSU
He left a job with the Patriots to find god and be with his wife only to take the Rutgers job

If he couldn’t cut it at OSU what makes anyone believe he would have made it at Tennessee? A school that plays Florida, Georgia, Alabama among others week after week. He’s a fit for those lower tier schools because expectations are low for a low life person.

I think "safe" is a stretch. There's a possibility he "survives" for another year, although I'm not sure what performance indicator would suggest that he should be.

I think he should have been fired after the UK loss. But Fulmer has stated he needs time and after that insane comment he made comparing him to Majors, I just don’t see Pruitt going anywhere until the end of next year.

Now having said that, the only way Incan see him leaving this offseason is if, and this is a gigantic IF, the big TN money says they want a change now. Because if it’s just up to Fulmer and TN, then I think Pruitt is safe.
