I don't think that's the issue. Those players are still fighting until the end of each game. Players that don't buy in usually quit playing hard, especially at the end of tough games. I look at the team and see enough coaches that have a good resume and enough talent to be competitive...the puzzle pieces are there. Pruitt just hasn't figured out how to put them all together. There's going to be a learning curve for most new coaches. I thought Pruitt was figuring things out last season but this season made it clear that he hasn't...and may never get there.He’s a coaching lifer, so he’s built personal relationships with players on the roster. But you can LOSE them in other ways than outright protest. When they don’t believe what you’re preaching, they don’t buy in...thus performance. I’m not afraid of such players leaving...in a way they already have.
Learning as you go usually entails progressing...he’s going backwards. Players with talent are regressing and making day one mistakes like lining up wrong and late.
