'21 AL WDE Dylan Brooks (Auburn transfer)

Right I can’t believe this 18 yr old kid didn’t look at the situation from the top down and weigh all possible outcomes vs expectations. At 18 he should clearly have developed the ability to understand complex situations and be 100% decisive with his decisions....especially as an 18 yr old....especially when making the biggest decision of his life thus far....

......or do we give the kid a break?

Lol how about the kid just honor his commitment for a year and then hit the transfer portal if he doesn’t like it without any restrictions placed on him.... “interesting concept” you know honoring something you committed to....

I think he's an Auburn guy. He's trashing us on twitter.
does he realize who he's messing with? what we've been involved with the last 12 years? gonna need a little more than some NLI controversy to move the needle. we're handing out mcdonalds bags of cash 2 months ago. we have people falling on helmets. we have 3-7. we have Schiano Sunday.

po dunk birmingham dude trashing us on twitter?

Does TN get back the scholarship on the 25 number?
we do not get back the initial qualifier on the 25. once they sign, they count. i'm not sure, but i believe there's a waiver process you can go thru to get those back....but it is not an automatic "get back" once you release them.

same thing for a kid that signs, but doesn't academically qualify....you just lose that spot in the 25. if you're still under the 85 limit, you can add transfers, or give scholly's to walk ons etc....but you don't get that IQ spot back automatically.

i would imagine we'll see about going thru that process for brown and brooks. it would be nice to have 2 extra spots for the 22 class.

Highly unlikely

I hate that some of our fans still put Fulmer in a bubble.

He’s just as guilty as Pruitt in all this. He thought he could make it all go away by sweeping it under the rug and got caught. Furthermore, he handed out deals to people who weren’t qualified for those positions on the way out. Which only would have screwed Tennessee even further.

if he really believed they were gonna be here, and not get fired, they would have been here in February too. he gained nothing by signing early....there were other commits that held off.

it wasn't overly difficult to read the tea leaves on this one....

and he has a release...he no longer has to come here, which was the issue, right? :)

There should be a clause by the NCAA that gives the counter back to the schools automatically in these particular situations. Just losing 2 roster spots from a class sucks. Coaches getting fired sucks for kids, but they entered into a binding contract. There are always penalties in order to be released from contracts.

That is the price you pay for committing to a coach who we all knew was getting fired. He probably got his happy meal and now he thinks he can just take his meal and go to the school that he really wanted to go to without penalty.

He tried to be secretive about signing and had people WAITING on if he really signed or not .. so we gonna make him WAIT on the new staff to talk to him to see his thoughts ..after all that and he still wants out ( which he will ) .. then we will WAIT and then maybe give him the release when the amount of time he made all WAIT to see if he reallt signed or not .. only then will we conside releasing him .. WAIT WAIT WAIT

Some of you old heads have forgotten what it’s like to be young and impressionable.

And I guarantee Brooks didn’t “know” Pruitt was getting fired. He’s being recruited by multiple schools and you think he’s spending his time on fan message boards discussing firing the coach? HA. Hell I didn’t even think Pruitt was gonna be fired and I’m on here daily.

So an institution filled with adults should act like an immature 18 yr old just to get back at the 18 yr old?

Way I look at it kid should had waited. You don’t commit to a coach not realistically. Coaches come and go. That school is home for 3-4 years. It also sets a bad example for when they get into the nfl. You think the NFL teams is going to let you leave without rules or penalties? Like people above has mentioned, signed a contract pretty much. That contract was not to Pruitt but the University. Kids don’t need their hand held all throughout life in my opinion. Called tough love. We let him out . Can go to a ACC school, or wait the one year. Some expectation I would set for my son, if you commit make sure it’s the school you want not necessary the coaches as they can come and go.

Kids nowadays just don’t understand “commitment” or responsibility.

They also don’t think about what their actions cause. Granted I understand he may of been lied to by “Pruitt” but the kid is/was a highly rated recruit. He would of seen game time.

So why is he transferring ? What grounds? Just because he doesn’t have the same coach?

The kid could easily come to UT for a year and transfer if he didn’t like it. He would always have his redshirt to fall back on. So.....

Explain to me why it is okay to just take a hit to our counter without any repercussions to the kid.

How many of you saying “you don’t commit to a coach” were actually recruited by multiple schools to play a sport in college?

I say at best .. release him to anybody outside of SEC for immediate play .. if inside SEC he has to sit a year .. but I can see our coaches on defense getting a opportunity to talk to him .. if he will talk .. if not then release him with the above restrictions.
