Every1 can argue up and down about this, but if we lost to a 6-6 Vandy team this yr, we would be out of the NC game picture

You know, I'm having a hard time disagreeing with this. (via Alabama's tight end Brad Smelley.)

The "two best teams" argument is a load of crap. If Iowa State missed a random field goal in regulation Oklahoma State would be undefeated, but that wouldn't make them better than they currently are. Bama would still be the "better team," so in that instance would they still have deserved to go?

I care about results, not hypotheticals. If that still makes Bama more favorable then okay, but the resumes should be the only thing that matter, not perception.

How in the hell do you think OSU has the better resume?

If you look at wins over ranked teams (and highest ranked teams) some one could make that argument. OSU would get that nod.

Plus the conference champ could help bolster the resume idea i guess.

Wouldn't you think?

Interesting.

Oklahoma State has defeated seven teams with winning records. Alabama has defeated three.

Oklahoma State has defeated five BCS Top 25 teams. Alabama has defeated two.

Winner of that crap conference is a joke. How many ranked teams outside of their inflated rankings conference did they beat? Stinking Texas was still in the top 25 before today with 4 losses. Big12 or whatever they are now is a joke.

Alabama had a shot at LSU AT HOME and couldn't get the job done. They don't deserve another shot.

Did Green Bay deserve to be the super bowl champions last year? This why there should be a freakin 4 team playoff at least. At the end when it matters.

Does anyone outside the SEC even have an argument? they turned down a playoff already.

"In 2008, commissioner Mike Slive pitched a so-called “plus-one” plan that essentially was a four-team playoff using existing bowl games. Other than the ACC, the other conferences not only summarily rejected the plan, they refused to even discuss its details."

Oh, so ranked teams only count when they are SEC ranked teams. Got ya.

Who did Alabama beat from outside of the conference that is worth a damn? Before you answer, please remember that Penn State is not worth a damn.

Nobody should be allowed to play for the NC that loses to their respective conferences version of vanderbilt.
