Wondering how Saban leaving immediately impacts recruiting and current roster. This is less a recruting thread then it is, "impact on program," thread. So much to consider like, replacement coach being able to salvage recruits, Saban telling people he'll stick around and then leaving, Sabans now old staff leaving and thier relationships dissipating.
Wow what a time to be alive!
I would think most will wait to see who his replacement will be and I think the portal is closed now for existing players. All AL recruits are fair game and I'm sure their phones are blowing up now.
Portal open for 30 days if coach leaves right ?I would think most will wait to see who his replacement will be and I think the portal is closed now for existing players. All AL recruits are fair game and I'm sure their phones are blowing up now.
I wonder how Saban leaving makes life hard for all the 'candidates' for his job. I feel like those guys have to make their stance clear early if they still have big targets left. Especially Kiffin and SarkWondering how Saban leaving immediately impacts recruiting and current roster. This is less a recruting thread then it is, "impact on program," thread. Love it! Let the chaos begin!!!I wonder how Saban leaving makes life hard for all the 'candidates' for his job. I feel like those guys have to make their stance clear early if they still have big targets left. Especially Kiffin and Sark
aka Saban quitting when he did is probably good for UT recruiting for the short term because it makes a lot of coaches' tenures questionable. Also if it does end in them getting one of the big names it starts the dominoes. IF they were to hire Sark or Franklin or Lanning or Dabo those programs would be looking for a big name to fill their vacancy. Ole miss and Washington less so.
Depends on who the replacement is. If they whiff in the big names (highly unlikely), then they could see a decent exodus. However if they hit on one of the big targets then they may not lose many at all.I wonder how many of their recruits and current players head out the door.

I hope Heupel and the staff are on the phone trying their best to get some of their recruits.
I took a peek over at a Bama board and names like Demeco Ryans (may have misspelled that), Smart, Kiffin, Sark, Washington’s coach, Day, Lanning and Norvell is what I saw. But then again who knows if that’s even remotely accurate.
Exactly right on Ryans. He's in a great situation at Houston (a phrase I never thought I'd say), especially with his lack of head coaching experience. He is set up very well for the immediate future. Stroud, Collins, Tank Dell, Schultz, a solid OL, and his experience as a DC will have them conpetitive for a while, especially in a weak division.Norvell and DeBoer most likely in my uneducated opinion.
Ryans would be a damn fool to leave his situation. Smart ain’t leaving UGA for Bama. Don’t see Kiffin fitting there. Sark has better NIL and can match anything Bama has at Texas. Day don’t want that SEC smoke. Lanning already said he wasn’t leaving.
Day ain’t leaving, with JH leaving he will be back to dominating.Norvell and DeBoer most likely in my uneducated opinion.
