Alan Posey no longer with the team

Dools swung and missed, but he didn't care. He was just interested in making a statement back in Jaw-Ja at the time. Clear out the dead wood. The young man had every chance to prove himself and did not or could not or would not do it. Next.

He saw early playing time this season at guard. (2nd team)
I'm a little surprised because we're loaded with potential tackles. He'd of been a 2 year starter at guard.
All speculation at this point as to why.

Has this been confirmed? His Twitter sure looks like he is still a Vol and he has played in a couple of games this year. It's not like anyone expected him to start this year.

He contacted me several months ago about having a custom figure made of him. He seemed like a good guy, but my prices were too steep for him it seems.

Best of luck, Alan. Hate that you're leaving just when this train is about to get rollin, but you gotta do what's best for your future. Thanks for wanting to be a Vol.

Seems like he wanted to be a starter more than a VOL. If he wanted to be a VOL, he could've stayed a VOL. Just sayin

I've been waiting to see this confirmed. Folks were tweeting at him, "Good luck" and "you'll always be a vfl." I was hoping we would hear more. I'm sure it will either be confirmed or debunked by Monday.

I followed his recruitment and he was always a very vocal lover of the Vols.

Yeah...before letting someone that big get away, I sure would have liked to see him moved to DT just like Hood did. Could have made an impact there at some point, perhaps.

Funny how so many people think that just because a person is big that it somehow means they would be a good fit for a DL. Hilarious. Got news for ya, usually the more athletic big guys play DL, the not so athletic big guys play OL. If he wasnt good enough to get some playin time at OL, he damn sure aint good enough to play DL.

Posey is a class guy and has always been out spoken about his love for this program. The people on here bashing him should be ashamed. Alan hasn't got alot of playing time so far but he has been a positive contributor to this program. After the Georgia game he was talking about how proud he was of the fans for rocking Neyland.

I trust this coaching staff is treating everyone with respect, so I have to believe this is in everyone's best interest. Good luck to him!

As a competitor I'd rather start too and I don't blame him. Maybe he isn't an SEC type starter and if he wishes to transfer to a school where he can be, I don't fault him.

Recruiting the state's best is a great place to start. I love seeing Butch land the state's best talent once again. Those guys bleed orange from birth, and they will prove to be the foundation of the program once again. Giving their all for the Vols. In my opinion this is where Fulmer's decline started. When our reputation got bigger than the state, and the state's best players were no longer a priority, when in fact; in state players give a team it's heart and soul. Dooley talked about it, but Butch is actually doing it.

I dont fault him either but im not gonna declare that he wants to be a VOL after he has chosen not to be.

not in the two deep. AS for DL its difficult to impossible for an OL to become a DL. Some Dl's are converted to OL but hardly ever the other way. The one exception I can think of was Nick Fairly who was recruited as a mid-level OL and turned into a beast DT.

Didn't Daniel Hood start off as an OL?
