Alan Posey no longer with the team

This can't be good for the team's APR score... they have to keep their four year rolling average up or they will not be eligible for the postseason next year.

Hopefully he leaves the team eligible & goes to another four-year with a 2.6 or better GPA.

Alan Posey was the "Vic Wharton" of his recruiting class. He was our biggest recruiter of that class and for that reason I was pulling for him big time. This sucks. Wish him the best tho.

He is a character in the movie "Atlas Shrugged." Everyone knew his name, but no one knew who he was, so everyone kept asking, "who is John Gault?"

Really? I thought it was a preeminent novel about the pussification of America and personal responsibility

I hate this. I was hoping he would be a good one. He was great during his recruitment.

I thought I saw him post a few times over in the recruiting forum.

Didn't he talk about dominating some guy at a camp who was committed to Georgia or something like that?

I thought for sure he would end up being a starter for us. As far as size he is a monster makes me wonder what happened. GO VOLS!

Alan sat at our table at the Welcome Back BBQ before the season, and we got to speak with him at length. I came away so impressed with the young man. He polite, well-spoken, and couldn't be more complementary of Butch Jones. He mentioned how nice it was to receive positive reinforcement (which was lacking in the previous regime). He was also really excited about the season and ESPECIALLY excited to take it to Vandy this year.

Obviously, I don't know him personally, but I imagine this decision was best for him and his career. I seriously doubt there are any sour grapes. Those making insensitive comments about the young man need to have some perspective. GBO!

Funny how so many people think that just because a person is big that it somehow means they would be a good fit for a DL. Hilarious. Got news for ya, usually the more athletic big guys play DL, the not so athletic big guys play OL. If he wasnt good enough to get some playin time at OL, he damn sure aint good enough to play DL.

Interestingly , he was recruited by Jancek at cincy.

Is this for sure? I haven't seen anything official yet, unless I missed it.

I hate it, if true. If he ends up somewhere else then I wish him the best.

This tweet from Weisman came out about the same time as Posey's news broke on twitter, not sure if related.

@D_Wiesman71: Can't stand when people think they're better than others because of something they did a long time ago.

Dallas is gone also. The new coaches repeatedly tell the players THEIR recruits will trump them. FRESHMAN are their main priority. Alot of discord on the team. Expect them to drop like flies and transfer.

Posey is a class guy and has always been out spoken about his love for this program. The people on here bashing him should be ashamed. Alan hasn't got alot of playing time so far but he has been a positive contributor to this program. After the Georgia game he was talking about how proud he was of the fans for rocking Neyland.

This. Why in the hell can't our fans show a little class and just wish these kids the best? Why does everyone that leaves the program for the best have to be ridiculed?

Trashy fans.
