Any time that much money is involved then it is cut throat. Any one thinks other wise has been in a very sheltered life

Do you know something more than the rest of us--or are you just personally offended by the opinions of others? I find it hypocritical of you to be tolerant of Posey's "rights" to post over-generalizing and derogatory comments about the ENTIRE NCAA sports world, but not the "rights" of others to express an opinion about his comments!

I know NOTHING about Mr. Posey other than he was on the roster at UT playing football. He obviously has been evaluated by TWO different coaching staffs and found to be lacking in sufficient talent to earn a starting or back-up role on the field.

I don't know if he quit by his own decision, or if he was asked to leave the team to make room for other players--either way--he has been evaluated and found lacking for this program by those paid to make those decisions. And now he wants to pout and cry like a baby because of "alleged" unfavorable or "unfair" circumstances or whatever reason he has for his tweet.

What he needs is to "grow a pair", man up, and get on with his life! Or he could just go take a walk through ANY local hospital or Nursing home and see just how bad life can be--and nothing about it is fair!

Gave you a like for this because it was deserved...And as a makeup for the Kamara thread:peace2:

So, what I gather from all the posts i've read is........ Posey is either a sniveling whiney quitter.....or....... He just sucked so bad that he was asked to leave. Is that about right? And we are free to choose whichever one of these we want to stand by? I LOVE VN. :hi:

Oh man--just read your sarcasm at my Saban post…..You might want to get me one of those fatheads of Spurrier, Shaw (from Stanford), Coach Jones, Bill Snyder (Kansas State), and Mora (UCLA) because I admire all of these coaches for their excellence in their vocations…

No harm done here, my friend--just having some fun! :hi::good!:

College athletics is a dirty business, but most successful businesses are not clean. They are ruthless. I'd be happy to see a "do what it takes" mentality at TN again. Posey didn't cut it and from several accounts wasn't doing what it took to be a Vol these days. When you raise your standards, some kids get left behind.

Bitter, but not necessarily a jerk.

Wal-Mart is a prime example,Sam was as ruthless as they come. The football equivalent is alabubba.

I'm glad we have so many with crystal balls in here that are saying the kid quit.

Sounds like the kid knew he wasn't going to be able to cut it and quit for the betterment of the team. He hasn't slammed the coach or the program and we're throwing him under the bus. Pathetic yet predictable true fan behavior. Leave the kid the hell alone.

I can understand getting burned out. I did with baseball, but there's no reason to trash the sport that gave you an opportunity at a free college education.

He needs to take that avatar off of him the VOL uniform.

Same happened to me. I agree that you can't bite the hand that fed you.

Who cares what Posey thinks? He wasn't worth a crap anyway. He should have never been offered a scholarship in the first place, and wouldn't have been, if it weren't for that worthless piece of garbage Dooley.

Playing NCAA athletics is not for the weak of heart or mind. Those who cant cut it will quit on their own. My freshman class on my college baseball team had 18 guys in it, I was on the field my senior day, with only 4 of those 18 who came in with me. Good luck to Mr. Posey in his future, college athletics isn't for everyone.

Posey gave more to UT than anyone in this thread. He earned the right to put on the jersey and when to take it off. Not surprising you would be taking shots at him simply because he wants to do something besides play football

Umm I'm sorry I thought this was VN football forum.....:ermm:

He is no longer on the team roster.... When did this happen?????

off week prior to Carolina game. I think a meeting let him know he would not have a spot next season.. so he went ahead and left the team then. As did Vincent Dallas

Hate that happened to these young men. I wish nothing but the best for them and I hope they ball out where ever they go.
