Well I am in a vulnerable place with this guy's recruitment. I believe our staff is all in on him, and not so much on other guys I think we really like and continue to dance with. It would be a double hit FOR ME if he goes elsewhere because after reading the 24/7 excerpts above, he seems to have the class and character that would fit right in our locker-room. Not saying we only sign Eagle Scouts, but I do think it is a bigger factor for us than other programs and among the reasons I am doubly proud of our trend lines with this staff. It might be partially so as a defense mechanism till we get our NCAA ruling. Risk/reward calculations have to include this element when you are already toeing the line with an unpredictable NCAA being on the clock.
His offer list seems to validate his potential. He may well be on a shorter list than I would have projected for additions until we get a better feel for voluntary counter losses following the bowl game, and maybe another wave after spring practice. Projecting our 85 count is really tough from the outside and tougher when we still have some guys with options still being courted to stay, i.e. Mays and Flowers.
