I’m sorry…but credit due!“Honey, I love you. Im not saying I’ll love you for the rest of our days but as of right now, there is legitimate interest that I might love you until the end of time. Other names in the mix is your sister Jane and Marcy my secretary at the office. Right now you’re the front runner and at the top of my list but we’ll see how things progress going forward.”

I remember when they had to stop Jamal Lewis and one defender -- I think Al Wilson -- in their benching duel, and they were right up there around 500 as best as I can recall. What linebackers benched 500lbs? There are very few college players at any position benching 500lbs.
Nearly 40 years back I was at Carson Newman. 2 of my roommates were the starting middle line backers. Both we’re benching over 400 and the weight room had the top lifts posted and there were 3 linemen over 500. This was podunk NAIA at the time. Don’t think it’s a reach to imagine some elite D1 lb’s are now doing 500 as guys have clearly gotten bigger and stronger in the past 40 years.I remember when they had to stop Jamal Lewis and one defender -- I think Al Wilson -- in their benching duel, and they were right up there around 500 as best as I can recall.
Edit: Found previous thread about this, they stopped them at 460.

Banks is in good shape but when you look at our LB core we were not as strong as we need to be. We had a hard time getting off the field and the LB core is a major part of that. He is the best on the team if Mitchell is not coming back. We need him as the weight room leader.
Banks is listed between 220-225 depending on the website. He needs to get closer to 230-235 lbs and be a name people hear discussed in the weight room.
I personally know previous linebackers that bench pressed 500 lbs.
Below is what I believe is a recent picture of Banks because Beasley is behind him. Then I have a picture of Quarte Sapp who was around the same height/weight. Banks is in great shape for the non-athlete cheeseburger and french fries eaters but he needs more muscle and size especially if he wants to play at the next level. I'm not saying Banks has to be built like Quarte Sapp. I'm just saying it would be nice to hear stories about what he's doing in S&C going into his senior year.

* It sounds like he's not planning to wait and take his fifth official visit before making his decision. I expect him to announce something by next week at the latest, and that's good news for the Vols since that means he won't be visiting any of the other teams that have entered the picture since his official visit to Knoxville.Unfortunately, I think this one is far from over. I believe the Texas offer made his head spin a little. We have positioned ourselves well in this one but I predict he lets his emotions win out and we are one of the hats left on the table when he makes his choice official.

Yeah I saw that and I hope it’s right. I just don’t have a good feeling about this one for some reason.* It sounds like he's not planning to wait and take his fifth official visit before making his decision. “Honey, I will add this, not saying it will happen, but I could decide to use my final hall pass. Teresa from Starbucks wrote a heart next to my name yesterday. She entered the picture late, but you never say never as love is so fluid.”“Honey, I love you.
