From the 247 article, it sounds like he's been sold on replicating what 2 FSU kids did last year.It feels like FSU is feeding people bs lately. They feel like a total sham operation.
What could they be selling thats better than us?
We have the O.G, which stands for Original Garner of course, he comes here and gets some sacks against Bama and UGA he's a draft pick period.
We gets even near 10 sacks in a year in the SEC? Draft pick.
And all we here about is how these players love being here and love these coaches, we are bound to have a pretty dang good shot.
Still Rodney Garner is a better reason than what FSU is offering.From the 247 article, it sounds like he's been sold on replicating what 2 FSU kids did last year.
Apparently (idk shiz about FSU but...) they had 2 transfers that were 1 and dones and will be drafted. Sounds like that's what he wants (duh I guess).
His motivations are conflicting and he'll have to decide which of them trump the others. Does he want to play for an NC competitor (neither of us), is he tempted at the chance at a 1 and done but with a crappy team, or does he want to be coached by an elite DL coach AND win a decent amount (unlike FSU).
For us - it does sound like he's sold on us being disappointed at "only" 8-5 and our plan to be much improved. Hopefully that and Garner's resume is enough.
Just as a complete aside/other point...but FSU has a championship in these kids' lifetimes. That says it all as to why kids might favor them over us. A 17 yo kid has seen us at our absolute worst. They wouldn't even remember our last trip to Atlanta. Their earliest memories were probably Dooley and Butch going 5-7 when they were 5 and 6. Not much better since. That's depressing as hell, but that's what these kids grew up on. We let our fall from grace last too long ugh
@vol4092
Just curious, but how do you expect him to announce? An official one...a stream out of the blue...or a simple tweet?
Sounds like a perfect fit for the culture we are establishing in our program.When I talked with him last night, he was not sure yet. After he made the calls to the coaches telling them he was going elsewhere, the plan was to consult with the school of his choice on how they wanted him to announce. Very respectful kid on all fronts.
Some kids just want a change of climate and to be surrounded by pretty girls. FSU has both. Tennessee I think is the better program without question currently but neither program is winning a championship in this kid’s time there.Still Rodney Garner is a better reason than what FSU is offering.
He should know for a fact Garner will make him better
His track record is much more extensive than "oh well look at these TWO transfers we had that played well this year"
Tennessee also has both.... only difference is we have seasons.Some kids just want a change of climate and to be surrounded by pretty girls. FSU has both. Tennessee I think is the better program without question currently but neither program is winning a championship in this kid’s time there.
