Albany DE Jared Verse (transfer - FSU commit)

I know….it cracks me up….. guy enters portal that no one had heard of before…. He becomes a must get or the season is ruined….I wanted him too but he was an FCS player so his skills may or may not translate to the next level.

The ACC is a step up from FCS.

The SEC is a step up from the ACC.

The kid made a decision to go to the next level...not 2 levels up. This is the justification for his decision. At least that is what I tell myself rather that b!tch and moan about things.

Some of you in here be like:

1. The hand wringing and Pearl clutching is shortsighted and over reaction. At some point we have to learn to not live and die with each recruit. When you are rebuilding, aside from a generational QB, no one recruit is going to pull you out of the muck. It’s more comprehensive, big picture. This guy might add one more win this next season, but more than likely he wouldn’t change our win/loss one bit.

2. All the innuendoes and talk that this young man and others are drawn to FSU because of the “talent” and pretty girls is rather disgusting. You are questioning his character as it pertains to how he handles relationships, smearing young women who are daughters, and displaying pervy tendencies. Can we leave out talk of 17-22 year old college girls / women? It’s just inappropriate on many levels.

DLine coach. It’s similar to RG coaches the DLine and coach Ek

Haggins coaches the defensive tackles and doesn’t coach DE’s. Garner is our entire DL coach. Ekeler coaches outside LB’s, but I get your point with a rush LB.

But Haggins is not Verse’s position coach.

This is speculation at best. Rodney Garner makes good money to sign players. He’s a good coach, but is limited on SEC quality talent. We all know this. You hire coaches to sign players, and of course coach them up. This was a missed opportunity to improve a need position. He must do better. Heupel must do better. It’s that simple.
whoa. we missed on a fcs player.

think we can all agree heup needs to step it up.

we can criticize martinez, jean mary, and banks. but, esd was a win for garner. dude has been best recruiter ive ever seen.

let's see how all this plays out.

this was about garner, not others.

You probably think us missing on Nolen was Garners fault as well right?

It’s hilarious. Like others have said, dude was a 2* recruit. Those that are saying this was a huge Miss and the staff needs to do better would be the same ones complaining if we recruited him out of HS.

And the fans saying it’s “no big deal” are the ones head-scratching when we lose the game after scoring 45 points.

More players may come available, maybe not. As long as we’re in it, right?
