College football quarterbacks with big transfer decisions in 2018
Is the other transfer on this list?
Austin Kendall is on that list

We desperately need a QB that can play immediately. I'm higher on JG than most here, but the real problem is that with Dormady gone, JG is the only serviceable QB on the roster.
While I know a lot of people here love McBride for his moxie, dude is just not a P5-level QB. His stats were terrible. He doesn't have the arm strength or the height to be competitive in the SEC. He could succeed with an FCS team, but he's not going to work out at UT, nor does he fit into the new offense at all.
Shrout is a project at best. Dude threw 26 INTs during his Senior season in high school. He has the potential, but if we're being honest, he needs a few more years of development before he could conceivably be ready.
Right now, we're in a situation if JG gets injured, we could be staring at a 3 or 4 win season. And while everyone expects this to be a rebuilding year, I don't think anyone wants to see a repeat of 2017. So with that said, I hope we get this guy.

And an NFL team drafting a QB from North Dakota State (FCS) with the second overall pick, making him their starter as a rookie, and who in his second year has led the team to the NFC Championship game...was a bad move.
So were supposed to go all in on this kid because of the once in a generation type find the Eagles appear to have gotten in Carson Wentz? Does the phrase one off mean anything to you? How about the word anomaly? Getting a franchise qb is a hit or miss process no matter youre looking to find one, but especially if youre going the Wagner College of the FCS route imho.
And lets keep it straight here, I didnt say he would be a bust and never play if he came here....I said lets slow our roll on this kid if were trying to make the case that hell play at a high level and win in the SEC if were basing it on his td-int ratio from last year like the poster I responded to said. What are the odds?
QD had a winning record so....
Doug Williams - Grambling St.
Tony Romo - E. Illinois
Steve McNair - Alcorn St.
Joe Flacco - Delaware
Phil Simms - Morehead St.
Rich Gannon - Delaware
Kurt Warner - N. Iowa
Josh McCown - Sam Houston St.
Ryan Fitzpatrick - Harvard
Jimmy Garoppolo - E. Illinois
Carson Wentz - North Dakota St.
Just to name a few.
I understand it is not the norm, but FCS QB's who go on to have NFL careers is not as rare as one may think. There is no way to tell if Thomson has what it takes to succeed at a P5 school, but when an NFL QB coach thinks he'd make it in the NFL, seems worth the risk to me.
