Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Ok I know you’ve seen the voter turnout this past cycle for that district. She is an anomaly not the norm from that district Crowley was the norm. If he’s done she’s the incumbent and inertia is on her side. If he runs I’ll bet you a steak dinner he wins. We’ll have to revisit in 2020!

People like Mitt Romney, John McCain, Bush 43 and others were the "norm" for traditional red states. Trump won how many of those primaries fairly handily?

She'll be reelected. By a huge margin in both the primary and general election.

If Crowley is on the ballot a steak dinner is in the line deal?

If it’s another newcomer I’ll guess she wins.

Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson Visit Ocasio-Cortez to Combat Trump’s ‘Anti-Civil Rights Agenda’

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton visited Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) this week, with Sharpton saying that he and Ocasio-Cortez discussed how to “fight back against the disastrous anti-civil rights agenda enacted by the Trump administration.”

Sharpton went to Ocasio-Cortez’s office on Thursday and effusively tweeted about his visit, even sharing a video of the two of them dancing.

“Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez @AOC and I discussed priorities for the coming session and the newly elected members’ plans to fight back against the disastrous anti-civil rights agenda enacted by the Trump administration in the last two years,” Sharpton tweeted, adding that the two of them “lightened it up a bit and talked about James Brown” after discussing more “serious issues.”

Jackson met with Ocasio-Cortez on Wednesday, and the freshman New York Democrat said “it was an honor of a lifetime” to meet with Jackson and discuss how they could “advance the movement for economic and racial justice in the United States.”
“It was an honor of a lifetime to meet with Rev. Jesse Jackson to discuss how we advance the movement for economic and racial justice in the United States,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “Rev. Jackson’s lifetime of civil rights work paved the way to make lives like mine possible. Thank you, @RevJJackson!”

The Democrats trash & garbage piles keeps building up so much that Waste Management works overtime to clean out all the low life riff-raff that keeps accumulating in AOC 's tiny little Office space. (See pictures above).

lol.....Look at the right wing media....look at Franklin Pierce. That's where the obsession lies. I think by and large, the democratic party wishes she got far less coverage. It's the right-wing propaganda spin to keep her in the news and make her the "face" of the democratic party. The minions are so pliable.
Hopefully moderate dems will still be heard and not overshadowed by this kind of representation. She is the face of a small over represented force because they are vocal and get the headlines. The moderates I know don’t like her.

He outspent her $4.2M to $200K. She still beat him by 15 points.

She won by saying what he wasn't saying and getting out with the people as "one of them." Same thing Trump did.
He literally blew off the debate one week prior to the primary and claimed he had a previous engagement. Then pics came out on twitter that he was in the city on that day. He took his constituents for granted and paid the price. My error might be assuming that he can overcome that. He didn’t even have a primary challenger in the 9 previous elections.

I’m not a fan of either one of them. But after two years of what she’s doing now and if Crowley mends fences with the district I’m guessing he will have a shot. That’s all.

For those of you thinking she's going to get voted out in two years, dream on.

She's the left's version of Donald Trump. Nonsensical Tweets and making the most absurd statements she can, going after the system of perpetual politicians and garnering the absolute infatuation of the opposing party is going to get her reelected handily.

If she doesn't win again in 2020 by a landslide, I'll be shocked.
She's there for life. Just like herpes.

If there are any moderate dems left they are by far in the minority. That party is ran by radicals

Exactly my thoughts on her back in November.

This gonna b good.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Keep Destroying the Democratic Party

A split in the Democratic Party has developed. New Socialist U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has taken no time in rocking the left-wing boat led by establishment politicians Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). Since day one, she stated that the policies were not progressive enough. This week she made fun of former vice presidential candidate Joe Lieberman’s age. As she tries to pull the party further to the left, the Democrats will not be the only ones suffering.

Lieberman who has not been in the news much lately made an appearance on Fox News Business and interviewed on Neil Cavuto Coast to Coast. Lieberman offered a sharp rebuke of AOC as she also is known. He said that she was not the future of the liberal caucus and if she was the party was over.

This did not sit well with Ocasio-Cortez. She replied to him via Twitter saying, ”New party, who dis?” With 2.2 million Twitter followers it is easy to see how she will create a divide in the party. If she continues down this road, she will not become an effective leader. AOC will alienate herself and become ineffective.

It appears that Ocasio-Cortez believes that she is the new Democratic Party. At least she is honest about who she is and her intentions. Her openness also exposes her ignorance. 76 percent of respondents in a Hill.TV/HarrisX poll would not vote for a socialist political candidate. If this polling is accurate, then she will be alienated by the majority of her side of the aisle. Not to mention her attitude towards older left-wing lawmakers is pushing her into a room by herself.

I think GV is right on this one, but it depends on how OC plays the game. It's all about why the side that's out of power gains in an election. People want something different; they are tired of the status quo; they want someone who will represent them. Disaffected people are more likely to complain or take action than the "comfortable".

It's how socialists have always won; they offer to give the poor what the rich have. It never works in the end because everyone just ends up poorer for it, but people generally are very shortsighted and not at all thoughtful when it comes to their future, so someone offering to take from the rich and give to them plays well in a lot of neighborhoods.

So if OC continues to play the game and isn't seen to be a turncoat, she'll be hard to beat because it's always fun to watch someone make fun of a house full of corrupt congressional swine as they feed at the trough.

That will be the thing to watch. OC and a few others are waging revolutionary war on the Dim party; the moderates were happy to cater (at least in words) to the group that OC represents, and now they've brought a world of hurt on themselves. The Dim party either splits along moderate/leftist lines, or it shifts too far left for the country because you can't cure revolutionary fervor with conventional thought, logic, and actions ... staid, comfortable congressional critters have no clue how to beat a revolutionary.

Liberal star Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has more Twitter power than any other Democrat - including Barack Obama - but is miles behind Trump

Liberal sensation Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has more power on Twitter than any other Democrat - including former President Barack Obama - although she is miles behind that other social media force: President Donald Trump.

The freshman Democratic representative has generated more interactions - retweets plus likes - on the social media site than party leaders Obama, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer.

She is second only to the president, Axios found, when it measured the Twitter star power of several politicians.

After Trump Asks 'Who Cares?' About Ocasio-Cortez, She Claims 'We Got Under His Skin'

President Trump dismissed a question about Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) Monday, asking “who cares?” when a reporter asked about the freshman Congresswoman calling him a racist.

The 29-year-old Democratic socialist claimed on Twitter that she understood Trump “like the back of my hand,” comparing him to men she encountered bartending in New York.

“We got under his skin,” she claimed.

Her claim to know men like President Trump through bartending is interesting given that the president has long abstained from alcohol in honor of his older brother, Fred, who died at age 43 from alcoholism.

With that sharp incisive analysis she'd fit right in with the resident VN lefties like Luther, LG, EL, etc. Makes you also wonder if she's worked with Dink.
