All The Vegas "Experts" Picking UF

Nine times in row down there and the fact Tennessee has had the better team before like they do this time and still managed to lose the game. Probably the reason why. They look at history and trends. Both favor Florida.
UT had the inferior coach most the time also. Florida has put way more players in the NFL since 2010 than UT by a long shot, most of the teams since then UF had better players.

For the first time since I've been watching cfb ,I don't feel like that " Florida's in our heads" is real anymore. I'll be genuinely surprised if we play our typical choke game in the swamp this time .

Whether you're a fan, player, or coach, it does no good to think about bad luck, curses, "statistics", history, etc. suggesting a loss is possible when your team outmatches an opponent in key positions. If there is a physical issue like an injury sidelining a key player, that's worth considering, but otherwise it's superstition threatening to manifest as reality.

Unfortunately i have the same thouhht they do. I’ve seen this movie too many times against that team. Hoping for the best and a Vol win, but i picked UF by three scores.

Pretty crazy when a Dawgs fan has more faith in the Vols than you.

Florida has turned into a dumpster fire. Vols by double digits!

History doesn't exist except in the mind so why should it affect the present? Consistency?

And just what do past teams that lost in the swamp have to do with this Vol team? NOTHING! It's about the coaches, and we have the best coaches by far. Napier is coaching for his job. If he loses this one, he probably won't last the season. Lot's of pressure on him and if he projects that to his team, they crumble.

Florida is an extremely young team. Per its recent starting 2-deep lineup (excluding special teams), it has only 6 seniors and a whopping 20 freshmen.

In contrast, Tennessee will be starting 25 seniors and only 5 freshman (in the 2-deep, excluding special teams).

This is gonna be a men v. boys smackdown.

Florida is rebuilding bigly, and the Utah game was no fluke. I don't care if this game is in The Swamp or on the Moon, it won't make much difference.

Betting-wise, I think our offense will come out with guns blazing. Our OC kept his hand in check during the first 2 games and really didn't show much. Yes, Joe will be airing it out *deep* to Squirrel and Thornton. Plus, with the players-only meeting following the lame AP performance, I think our players will be very, very amped up and focused. Expecting us to look alot more like we did last year with our quick starts.

Got 3 bets going into the game:

TN -0.5 (-185) at halftime
TN -6.0 (+110) at halftime
TN -6.5 (-115) for the full game

GBO.
Young team vs veterans is why UT will probably win. It is our turn to whine: "If only we had played you later in the year. :

I love it when people cherry pick websites and act like the majority is picking Florida. I have watched many talk shows and looked at many betting sites and insiders for their picks. About 75% of them pick Tennessee to win and cover. You don’t hear about that though, just the people picking against them.

Just so everyone knows, 75% of betting analysts and talking heads are picking us to win. Stop overreacting to three guys picking Florida to win

Certainly true. Should also notice that McNeese only scored because our 4th string tailback fumbled near our own goal line. (He would be 5th string if one our backs weren't injured.

We vote with our dollars. You can talk about beating FL all day long but will you put your money where your heart is? Vegas is build on "homers" who blindly bet on their team to win. I'm a lifelong Vol fan but I'm putting my money on FL. We aren't going to beat the spread......

I just want to win the game, even if it’s by one point. But if I was betting, I would take Fl to win outright. I’m concerned with ore snap penalties and Joe trying to overcome the crowd noise. Plus, I don’t think the vertical passing game improves this week.

Mark Lawrence picked Florida to Win, Sports Reporter too, MOF, every Handicapping service has Florida as their Underdog Play; and with good reason considering the stats & trends, Ut has an abysmal record vs uf, even when fla sucks (last year's close game should have been a blowout) and especially @ Uf. Joe & Company CAN change that, if they just play like they are capable. Night game down there with all the loud drunks, going to be a challenge. This game will define Tennessee's season; and more. Hang in there guys and GO VOLS!
Exactly what would you expect since it's been 20 years since we last won there? Combine that with how our offense under Milton has looked and it seems more common sense than handicapping.

Some of y’all are some weak minded people holy ****. Just once I would like to see this fan base grow some balls but nope just cower and complain and expect the worse to happen. Really gets old with how little faith you have in this football program.

Again....20 years. Until they prove me wrong....

If we hadn't turned in such a $hitshow on Saturday ... I think the mood would be much different.

Maybe, but I think a lot of old timers like myself would still have doubt based on the series history. Even with the game in Knoxville and Hooker, Hyatt and Tillman leading the way, we were one play away from losing last year. This is like our series with UK. No matter how bad we are and how good they are, we still expect to win. Until UT takes a win in the swamp, I'll continue to expect the same ol' same ol'. UF vs UT seems to bring out the best in UF and the worst in UT. Can Milton break the streak? We'll see, but I wouldn't put money on it.

Huh? That dates back to like the 50s. I'm pretty sure UT was better than Florida most of that time.
We usually were until Dickey betrayed us. That's the point that things began to change. JMO, but I consider him to be the author of this mess.

Tennessee has a chance to rewrite a LOT of narratives Saturday night. It’s all up to them. They can change the historical trajectory of the program for the better, or they can provide “more of the same”. Not much we can do as fans except hope.
Ball out Saturday Vols. Become legends.

Eh. Florida has only really been better after Meyer was hired till recent. Before that almost all Tennessee teams were better. The Spurrier years were mostly even give or take but still feel other than 95-96 Tennessee always had the better players. UT just doesn't play well down there.

Did we lose this past Saturday?
It sure felt like it. And if they played any SEC team other than maybe vandy, then yes they probably would have lost. Bubble screen after bubble screen would have been stuffed after about the third straight time.
