All The Vegas "Experts" Picking UF

I will say it again. I would happily trade three W's to beat Florida. Dear God, I simply hate the gators.

You know what they're saying on GatorCountry right now?

Southern Illinois scored 49 points on Austin Peay ... Tennessee only scored 30. LOL.
Southern Illinois also beat Northern Illinois which is a division above them. The difference is Austin Peay was a good team last year, and Mcneese was terrible. Just dig a little bit and you’ll find out.

To put it in perspective

Tarleton state went 6-5 and 1-3 in conference last year. They played TCU and this was their only FBS school they played.

Mcnease went 4-7 and 2-4 in conference they played Rice as their singular FBS school.

Austin peay went 7-4 and 3-2 in conference. They played 2 FBS teams in WKU and Alabama and Jacksonville St which is now an FBS team.

One of my frat brothers went on to be a Vegas oddsmaker. He always followed 2 rules:

1. Never bet on one bad team to beat another bad team.

2. Never bet on the Vols to pull the line. "Pull" was his line, it meant cover.

i've said it before and i'll say it again. i think the vols are the better team this year, but we have to start winning more consistently before i feel confident about going into environments like the swamp and tuscaloosa and coming out with w's.

Like with any new regime, I am not going to hold our current coach responsible for previous losses, and as for this week, I don't think our two preveious games can be used for trend analysis. All kinds of potential outcomes out there, based our performance, their performance and the guys in the stripes performance. A bounce or a call can change the momentum and if it does, it does. The LSU kickoff last year for example...... I will be looking for an early score off a turnover or a special teams play.

But this week is the first week I think is valid for prognostication purposes, but it will still only be one data point.

Even that 1st throw TD should have been picked off it the DB hadn't of misjudged it. However, they were playing against a 3rd stringer and I was not impressed with Utah minus Rising. I think UF played better than they are given credit for and most of their wounds were self inflicted. They had multiple penalties on 3rd down and I believe they only scored 3 points on 3 or 4 red zone opportunities. I still like UT to win but that said---if we let UF stay close in 1st half that hope UF has of winning turns into belief.
I disagree. He was a step behind because it was a PERFECT THROW. I think our Dline is better than Utah's. I like our RBs more. Going to be an interesting game to watch for sure.

We vote with our dollars. You can talk about beating FL all day long but will you put your money where your heart is? Vegas is build on "homers" who blindly bet on their team to win. I'm a lifelong Vol fan but I'm putting my money on FL. We aren't going to beat the spread......
I am not putting anything either way because I fear you are right. My thought here is how can we pick Tn to win down there until we prove we can actually do so? I have seen too many ways we have lost games down there. That being said, Go Big Orange.

Yessir. What this team needs is some kind of early quick and easy score. Something like a pick six or special teams return for a TD. That would put more doubt in UF and their fans plus ease pressure on Milton and the offense to do something early.

That's strictly the mindset of a fan, though. It has nothing to do with the players, who don't know or care about games played when they were children. We have talked a lot about the 2015 game on here, and to someone over 40 years old, 8 years can be a fresh memory .... but to a 19-22 year old? 8 years is ancient history.

Tennessee's players just know that Florida was a team they beat last year. They don't think like we do.

I love it. Tennessee rolls Virginia while Utah with 8 missing starters dominates Florida. Tennessee comes out flat, clearly looking past AP. Florida, meanwhile, comes out completely focused against McNeese because they need a convincing win for confidence. We've thrown, what, one pass way down field and that was the RK drop?

Heupel will have these guys ready to play. Florida isn't good. Vols by 2 TDs.

This is the type of crap that makes me wanna throw up in the floor and roll around in it. Friends ask me why I hate Florida more than Bama. It's this isht right here. That's why.
I’m callin BS until he show the bet slip.
Quitter that won’t put his $$$ behind his high wipin tendencies

I'll be happy with any win given how this game usually goes each year, but man it would be so sweet to see them steamroll the Gators for once and the game just is never in doubt.

I'm so sick of this stupid hostile environment crap. Tell them to turn on the tape of Tennessee versus LSU last year.

Also, while they're at it, Tell me about the first round quarterback they have still on their roster as well as any offensive lineman they have starting who will play in the NFL.

Then tell me how many defensive lineman We will have in the NFL

LSU at noon, is not the Swamp at night vs an SEC east rival, in my humble opinion. Also, didn’t you also play road games @ Georgia and @ SC?

I doubt Mertz plays in the NFL, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be a solid QB. Florida has done well in this series with QB’s who never played a down in the NFL. Florida’s LT Austin Barber and Guard Micah Mazzcua have excellent chances to be drafted by the NFL according to Pro Football Focus. Center Kingsley Eguakun is a 3-year starter and on the Remington Watch list. He’s got a shot too. The others on the OL are young and too early to tell for them.

I get everyone thinking Florida is devoid of talent, based on how they finished last year and how pitiful they looked vs Utah. But there are dudes on both sides of the ball who will be drafted. This is not a team completely without a few guys who can play. I actually have more confidence in Florida’s talent than I do coaching.

A thumping like LSU last year would be a nice table set for the upcoming season.

We are the better team on paper, but I think with this being an SEC rivalry road game at night this could go either way. You never know how rivalry games will turn out. Therefore, it makes sense what’s happening in Vegas.

I think we win a nail-biter 20-17.
