All things STOCKS

is it going down fast enough for the market to keep going up?
I don't know. I will say this. The bond market has anticipated the end of this WAY TOO SOON already, 30 year having turned in October. That is different, because when the recession hits, bond prices will go up even more. You're not having to price in a dip.

I do see a lot of optimism out there, but I also find tons of stocks easily with PE's of 3, 4, and 5. Fear/Greed index is neutral. Magic 8 ball says "check again later".

I’ve been watching a lot of Warren Buffett YouTubes this week. He talked to Charlie Rose for almost an hour and a half last year. It looked to me like he was getting pretty tired after about an hour. Seemed like he was getting overly emotional as well.

One of the big things that stuck with me was when he was talking about how much easier it is for him to manage $5 billion. He said that there are 1,000 or more appropriate investments and businesses to buy with that much. But it is only about 1% of what he’s working with and it’s gotten really hard to find options with the entire pile of cash that he has to invest.

Reiterates that he’s not a fan of being long cash or gold.

I’ll watch the one on his Bitcoin comments in the next day or three. No doubt - he’ll hate it.

He chronically laughs at his own comments. Like Bezos does.

I’m going to try to catch up reading his annual letters to shareholder. I’ve only looked at a handful and none of the recent ones.

COuld this be the beginning of a downturn? I'm not so sure. The market may now realize more rate hikes are gonna happen. Eager to watch today and tomorrow.

I think markets are getting back to company by company or sector by sector instead of everything moving in a (usually down) direction.

Announcements of layoffs and cost cutting by the big companies are mounting. I don't really follow some of the upstream sales metrics like "factory orders" but just looking now, the data so far is quite high. It's coming down, but it's coming down from the stratosphere.
