All things STOCKS

I think that Elon has to many businesses going. SpaceX. Boring. Tesla. Twitter. That other thing.

Yeah, but Twitter actually acts as a positive catalyst now. When he announces a new CEO for Twitter, that’s bullish for Tesla. Musk has also mentioned stock buybacks in Q1, so another positive catalyst for Tesla.

I’ve watched Baba bounce from $56 to $117. Netflix from 162 to 336+. Tesla having fallen from $400 to $100, I think we’ll get a bump to at least the $175 area before another move lower.

At least that’s what I’m pulling for.

Probably the biggest factor will be extending green energy credits. I don’t know if that’s happened yet, but taking it away would crush Tesla’s business model.

Dad gum updated Fidelity app moved everything around and hide my links and menu selections.

Yep. That's my only gripe about them is that they change things just enough and just frequently enough on their app that it becomes irritating. Otherwise, I've been happy with them, but...dang, if it's not broken there's no need to 'fix' it in this case.

It will take me a week to get used to it. Doesn’t really seem all that much enhanced. More like just rearranged.

Do ya'll use the Fidelity Active Tracker Pro?

They supposedly pushed the latest version to me this morning, but I can't recall any difference.

But, think I may have already had that version. Unsure why it wanted to reload '64-bit version?'

No. I use the iPhone app 99% of the time.

I'm actually a pretty big fan of Musk now with what he's done with Twitter. Twitter is becoming the only website that has any sembelence of objectivity because multiple perspectives of every issue are presented.

Think I am going to play with Europe stocks over next six weeks. Despite yesterday’s rise, I still think between Prez & Fed Jerome Powell, we spin our wheels.

With the miracle weight loss drug sold out everywhere, Novo Nordisk (NVO) is # 1.

Sold my 400 Amazon yesterday for average of $96.97. Had bought them for $97.21. For whatever reason, it makes me jumpy.

I don’t like Europe for the long term. Short term the mild winter could make it tradable. But the algorithm trading programs have already factored in the weather data. Putin dying, being removed, or finding sanity could bump the You Ropian equities. LT they have bad demographics. France and Scandinavia could be okay though.

Yes. I'm only talking short term trading. All my long term stuff has been stashed away in Vanguard Mutal Funds for decades.

In the fall, I held Equinar (sp?) thinking the Germans would be freezing by now, Didn't make much on that. The mild winter has been kind to millions of people.

I prefer USA stocks. But, looks like our mess may drag out. I do like the French company Airbus. Nestle is another. BioNTech from German should be close to some cancer breakthroughs. There are 4-5 others I have in mind.

But, none stronger than NVO (Novo Nordisk).....make of the drug that puts fat people back at high school weight with no exercise. It just causes suppressed appetite.

Germany is staring down some difficult headwinds. Energy, costs of defense, Russia, and demographics. If those German companies are also not transacting in US dollars they could have even more issues. The ones selling a lot to US consumers should be better, but I assume they’ll be converting those sales back to Euros. Currencies and monetary theory have always been difficult concepts for me to grasp. Lucky for me the US dollar is peerless.

Euro vs. USD is all over the place. The first time I traded for travel it was $.88. Several years later $1.31.
The Euro is currently at $1.09
USD and other currencies are sometimes used as a reserve currency, but there are stronger currencies in the world.

This century: The lower the number the better for the USD

I was on vacation in Greece / Italy in August. At that time, the dollar was almost equal to Euro.

Interesting that Euro has regained nearly 10% with that war on-going.

Unsure what that tells?

You buying in taxable or retirement account?

How did you like Greece and Italy? Eat any pizza?

Loved them both. Lots and lots of pizza.

Horrific infrastructure in both places. However, after giving it thought....especially Greece really has life well defined.

USA too materialistic and rush rush rush thru life. Need to chill out, drink wine, and eat lots of olives.

Ukraine and Russia are not in EU.
Looks like non EU counties, particularily the old Ugaslavia countries on the east coast of the Adriatic are wanting to join the EU before Russia invades them.
