All things STOCKS

Are you selling numismatics/bullion? Also, why are you interested in selling now?
I have about 155 pieces. Some say troy ounce and some say ounce.I can't tell a difference, and I don't have a scale to weigh it.
Selling because I'm 71 and trying to simplify things. Would rather sell to an individual to avoid dealer markup.
I also have a bag of mostly silver coins (probably 300-500 pieces). some wheat pennies, some nickles.

Wheat pennies!

I don't do anything with coins, but I think my boss buys some from time to time. How might he contact you, if he's interested?

I got big news about the stock market today.

"It is going to move!!!"

May go up; may go down. That part is a bit fuzzy until J-Pow begins his reading.

QQQ hit 26 week high.

Take all that money you've been saving up for the pacemaker your mother needs, and double down by investing in _______________ ????

Rocky Top,
WOOOOOO!!!!

Bank stuff ain't over. Powell mentioned 6 banks they are watching and there are reports of 25 other midsized banks that may have problems.

Thanks for sharing! Do you have any eagles, maples, brittanias, other national mint coins?

Man-the Fed really set us up with the everything bubble they made. ZIRP policy sent stocks and real estate soaring so those have been hurting now that the cheap money circle is off. Additionally treasuries are now toxic in trying to tamper inflation. This leaves me thinking metals and commodities are the safest plays, but what happens when the Fed capitulates and we see lowering rates and/or QE? In that case wouldn’t we expect another run up in stocks?

fourtwo3, sevenone5, fiveeight33. Live in Hermitage.
I think there are more like 6-800 coins.
Almost all coins are pre 1965. I think most of this,90% of the silver coins are silver(pre 1965).
My father always collected coins, and my wife reminded me that I got this before his death about 20 years ago.

If I want to divide a regular monthly IRA automatic investment in mutual funds into 4 equal parts , which funds would you guys recommend?

It depends on your time horizon, risk appetite, and overall goals. Are you looking for income/growth/etc? Also, if you're able to invest in ETFs in your IRA, you may want to take a look at some of those as well.

I hold SCHD (dividend growth, tracks the DOW Dividend 100 index) and SPLG (tracks the S&P 500), along with single stocks, and I started back in November of 2021. If I had to do it all over again, I'd have dumped more into SCHD at the outset and less into some of the single stocks (hindsight being 20/20).

None of us are able to withstand the liability of recommending funds. So this is not a recommendation. Passive index funds generally win. That's just a simple fact. If you're at fidelity, they have some zero expense funds:
FZROX total market
FZIPX mid to small cap
FZILX outside US

There is a 4th one, but it'll perform like FZROX

If you're not at fidelity, there is such a thing as a basic 3 fund portfolio that looks like this:
US stocks index fund
Outside US Stocks index fund
Bonds index fund

If a person was going to add a 4th, you'd probably add a small company index fund.

If you don't want bonds, you could probably add a "value" US company index fund in place of the bonds.

Dave Ramsey recommends a 4 fund portfolio, but his uses slightly different language.
Growth (evidently he doesn't like low priced stocks)
Aggressive Growth (this means small caps, really)
Growth and Income (this means dividends, really)
International
Sorry to get off topic. Ramsey is a Puritan.
