Alshon Jeffrey

Now I know that you are not digging at USCe but based on your logic please consider that UT is replacing their entire staff (most of the staff at least) so with regards to Alshon it is a wash.
No. Not really. The replacement of the old staff was a statement concerning them, not the current staff. That isn't the same as assistants walking away from the HC. It may not be in reality a statement about Spurrier but it wouldn't be that difficult to create that question in a recruits mind... without even being dishonest about it.

I'm not digging at USCe. My wife is from Union and I generally pull for them except when they play UT. I had actually hoped SOS might pull their program up.

ihateorange is about the only thing I've found to hold against you guys.

As for the speculation of SOS, I bet that he is 100% honest with what he is telling recruits. I bet that he stays at least three more years (minimum) as he told the recruits who will be RS Sophmores that he will be here until they graduate. I doubt that he told the current class the same.
I can't say one way or the other. If he were a liar as good as Saban, he'd probably have more talent right now...

I'm not sure he makes it that long. I am fairly sure he'll walk away before there's an inkling that USCe might fire him.

Washington doesn't seem to high on his Columbia visit.

"I liked it," the 6-foot-4, 305-pound Washington said. "USC always feels like home when I'm there and that was true on this visit, too."

"They treat you like you're already on the team," he said. "It's just a great place. I don't know what else to say."

Will visit next weekend and The U the following.

"I'm going to Tennessee next weekend and Miami the weekend after that," he said. "Then I'll make my decision sometime after those trips."

i don't know if this has been posted or not but anytime a recruit eliminates UF it's a good day. :)

Mark one off for Jeffery
There now appears to be only three programs in serious contention for Under Armour All-American receiver and Southern California commit (Saint Matthews, S.C./Calhoun County). Previously, the 6-4, 218-pounder had a visit set up for Florida on the weekend of Jan. 30. That visit will no longer take place.

Jeffery will visit South Carolina this coming weekend and Tennessee the following weekend, so it's a Trojans-Vols-Gamecocks battle down the stretch.

I just looked on SCV and it shows us as in the top 2.
Maybe im late, and if I am, i appoligize.
I think we could actually get this one..

He may be the only receiver we get other than those already committed...I really like James Green though....and Rogers....so I'll be bummed if we don't pull any of these top guys visiting but I'll get over sooner than most.

we just lost another coach today....lol

as for AJ, if he doesn't commit to you on the spot, look for him to end up in Columbia. Apparently someone close to him is pushing UT but his entire family is pushing South Carolina. Like I said, it will be interesting now that UF is out of the picture. As for QW, according to our team sourse, he enjoyed his visit to USC but he is really holding his cards close. Some people claim he gave a "silent committment" to Spurrier (whatever the hell that means) but I don't buy it. I would not be surprised to see him at the U (just my feeling)

Alshon:

"I've been hearing a lot from Tennessee and I'm still planning on coming up there this weekend," Jeffery said. "That hasn't changed, I'm still going to visit there and then the last weekend I'm going to visit South Carolina."

"I knew about coach Kiffin from USC and he's just a real cool guy, he's exciting," he said. "Offensively I know what he did out there with big receivers, guys like Dwayne Jarrett and Mike Williams, in that offense. He's been telling me that I can do those same type of things.

"I'm looking forward to the trip up there, I hope it's great."

Thanks, VG. Alshon has said recently that he it is 50/50 whether or not he ends up at Southern Cal. I thought that Pete Carroll said that he would pull his scholly if he took visits? Anyone have anything on that?

USC fans feel that they lead for him and are glad they get the last visit. I really think it's between us and them, but I hope that Alshon is paying attention to all these coaches jumping ship(TE coach is going to the Colts now). That program is going down the toilet (as if it had ever been out) and I wouldn't want any part of it if I were a young recruit.

Seems like an easy choice to me. Best coaching staff in America, or school where they can't even keep their coaches and has never nor will likely ever win a SEC championship while you're there. I also like the stadium advantage we have. On campus, huge stadium vs. their crappy W-B that isn't even on campus.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Plus he'd have to listen to that annoying recording of the Cock screeching. Luckily, they usually don't have much reason to blast that thing.

"It's still USC for me right now but I'm looking hard at those other two schools. I want to be sure and make sure I made the right choice," he said.

going to be tough to unseat USC

Kiffen and Pete Carroll have inhomes with Jeffrey on Thursday...according to Phil Kornblut, he may firm his committment to USCw back up when Carroll is there

It will be, S. Car is referred to as USCjr.

So from now on translations:

USCw - University of Southern California
USC of the East - University of Tennessee
USCjr - University of South Carolina
