Amateur Hour Continues

I don't really care about that aspect of it. I care that it's an ignorant thought coming from a position of power.
Is it? It's not something I'd thought about, but I could see the possibility of a business(es) losing faith in the Chinese govt being honest and forthcoming when dealing with a viral outbreak and ignoring it for fear of making China look bad and that affecting their business negatively.

You know, like they did with Sars and this most recent outbreak? Even if it's not the US/Mexico, other countries could have cheap manufacturing too and might be more appealing than dealing with the Chinese govt.

Not an unrealistic question if the US is having it's citizens quarantined on arrival with other countries discussing cutting off border access/restricting flights due to a virus that is rapidly spreading across the country with it's mortality rate/contagiousness still unknown.

I can see how that would impact the attractiveness.

But to be honest I'm not saying he's 100% right or wrong. Just the twitters are making it seem like he decided to make this statement on his own with no prompt when he was actually asked a question about how it might affect global trade.
A contagious disease outbreak could happen here almost as easily as there. To some degree it's just chance. Are companies going to make major investment changes after a two-week outbreak?

For me it's more about will the Chinese govt step in and do what's necessary to stop an outbreak. They didn't react with SARs I believe and this virus was active a couple months earlier than we were initially told. The Chinese govt didn't take action until it was too late.

I'm not saying jobs are going to leave China en mass, but I could see businesses opening their minds to looking elsewhere depending on how bad this gets in China. That's still unknown.

People manufacture in China because they believe it's the best opportunity. That includes American businesses that benefit the American economy. If you take away that best opportunity, as a whole we're worse off because we now have to choose lesser options. What Ross is talking about is diverting our resources into areas of manufacturing that are already covered, which does not make us or the world wealthier. We're wealthiest when our resources are devoted to what we're best at, and then we trade for the rest. This is basic economics.

Yea. It's weird huff. When you have a top heavy 30 ft wall that neeeds concrete they can fall over if not braced good enough.
Even the CNN story got it wrong and said the concrete wasn't cured. There's no concrete poured in that picture of the footer.

So, that big tree right beside the wall was a brace? For future reference which side of the wall will need a brace?

I don't know how timely it was, but it was pretty aggressive when they did act. Hard for me to imagine the US cutting off travel in and out of Houston, or a similar city.

I was noticing a lack of concrete. Hard for that tall of a piece of steel to stand up on its own.

What would withholding lethal aid to Ukraine be?
Blankets and MREs?

But i thought this alleged withholding of lethal aid was to coerce a foreign government into investigating a political rival. Just throwing stuff to see if anything sticks?

The rods you see on the trackhoe side were the braces. They would be used to hold the wall plumb untill concrete is poured and cured.

The issue at hand is not the allocation of the funds but rather the sheer size of the budget itself, as well as the President's tax policy. The United States budget process begins when the President of the United States submits a budget request to Congress. The President's budget is formulated over a period of months with the assistance of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), which is the largest office within the Executive Office of the President. The President's budget request constitutes an extensive proposal of the administration's intended revenue and spending plans for the following fiscal year. I assume you know all of this.
And Nancy rubber stamps it and sends it back. Gtfo
