I agree with you, there. I believe in redemption because I believe in the Redeemer.Actively, not so much. But a person who had been any of those thing could transform themselves. Besides that, those labels aren't always so black and white.

And, to your point, I find former politicians to be more admirable than when they were in office.
Agreed. It's when their worst act becomes a repeated action that I call it like it is.I’ve met people who have done those things. I can only think of one where I would have had no second thoughts about seeing him removed from society permanently. It wasn’t solely because of what he did (although that was atrocious).
Good people can do bad things and bad people can become good, IMO.
I think it takes more than just the person’s worst act to evaluate their quality.
I’ve never understood the desire for people to get into politics . Given the knowledge that you can’t please everyone and somebody is going to be mad at you no matter your stance , you would think people would have to be forced into a “term of service “ like a requirement for citizenship just to find enough to fill the positions . Meh to each his own I suppose .
