They all cheered and said yes . So yes it will continue .

If I have that right, then it must be perfectly fine for a president to have a ceremony where he gives a meaningless speech and sings the praises of someone's contributions to society, like he Obama for Pat Summit.

However, if he hands that person a symbolic Presidential Freedom medal at the end, now there's something that's terrible and degrading to the presidency.
