We fired a guy who wasn't anywhere near our 1st choice and replaced him with another guy who wasn't anywhere near our 1st choice. Don't know what anyone really expects. The program is snakebit and it's going to take major systemic changes to set things to rights. The needed changes are going to require heavy lifting politcally and financially. I'm looking for changes to be set in motion after the 2014 elections.

Your guess and my assumption are one in the same. I think it gets easier to do this kind of thing after he wins a second term, assuming he wants one.I agree the problem lies deep within the bowels of the University. Why are you thinking after the 2014 elections? Because Haslem will be more willing to assert himself over the University without fear of political backlash, or other reasons?
This is what kills me about the FB forum these days. I don't know whether this new coach is an upgrade, downgrade or lateral move. What I do know is that even if we had replaced Graham with a high school coach from somewhere around Knoxville, there would be a segment of this forum that would think it was a good move "Because he WANTS to be here!" or some other sheepish reason. There are just some fans who for one reason or another refuse to actually weigh both sides of the issue and just blindly go along supporting each and every move the coach makes. That's how we had most of the fanbase supporting Dooley right up till mid-late October of last year.
That could happen. Another possibility is that CBJ will show just enough signs of moving things in the right direction that he earns the benefit of being the guy in charge when corrections are implemented. I know Doug Matthews talked about the situation on his show this morning. It sounds like DM's optimistic. I know he's got a lot of faith in Hart. Not sure I agree with him on Hart but he knows a lot more about cfb and what's happening up there than I ever will.I think you are right, although I am not sure that the 2014 elections are going to be the turning point.
In spite of this it is possible that a blind hog will find a nut, and that CBG will have some success at UT.

The perception is all the sudden Jay Graham can't find his ass with both hands ,and another Big East wannabe coach gets a job here and becomes a Greek God...
Good ole Rocky top....
