"And if the woman be not defiled....she shall be free and shall conceive". The entire reason for this ritual is to prevent a woman who has slept with another man from having his child. This is very clearly an abortion. It even says at the end that is she hasn't been defiled, then she will have a child.
Also, if she was already pregnant, she would have already "conceived."
"... Shall conceive children." You left off a word. So either the law stated that she would be fertile, or that she would have twins/triplets, I guess. I'll go with the former interpretation. Nowhere does the passage indicate that a baby is killed. And, the reason had nothing to do with what you said. It was meant as a terrifying public display to discourage adultery and maintain purity of the camp of Israel.
