WTF does Russian expansion in the North Pole or Antarctica have to do with United States?

Have you forgotten we have a border crisis just to the south of us that might be of more significance?

They would be sitting on our roof and control strategic shipping lanes and vast amounts of newly accessible natural resources. Russia isn’t our friend and we need to hold them in check. I also don’t think we should be in control of the Arctic, that it should be left open and unclaimed by any nation but we know that’s not going to happen if we don’t ignore it.

You don’t let squirrels take over your attic because you have mice in your basement.
