By Slim Margin, Americans Support Healthcare Bill's Passage

I was under the impression that the vast majority of Americans were vehemently opposed to this. Weird.

Also, I was promised a death panel for my grandmother and I didn't get that, either.

What a ripoff.

in your opening post, there was somthing like 49% supporting it, that is still a minority and a majority still oppose it.

According to my polling of my 3 classes 90% are against it, so that means it translates to all of america because my one poll is the correct one... (do i have your logic down right?)

That just proves that the vast majority of Americans are idiots who are not even capable of wiping their own asses without big government involvement.

If you think healthcare is fine left alone, you have no business trying to debate anything otherwise.

you don't think it's posible to think healthcare needs to be fixed, yet still not want THIS fix? why is this concept so complicated?

Did you even look at the poll?

49% Approve
40% Disapprove
11% No Opinion

Where do you get that the majority oppose it from that?

where was this poll taken? what was the sampling group? what was the margin of error? What is the representation ratio?

You've already proven you didn't even look at the poll, itself. Do your own research.

You find a poll on this issue that shows 11% have no opinion is even remotely reliable?

Fox is a blip compared to the networks and remainder of the cable news trash combined, but who's counting when you're making dumbass points about Americans wanting a government solution.

Probably a poll by CNN. We all know they tell a unbiased side
of the story. Nobody with any sense wanted this garbage.

Quoted in the link I posted earlier in the thread a CNN poll claimed 59% opposed.

Couple of things about this - the poll I cited was done after the bill was passed. Some polls, like the one GS quoted the other day, indeed show a higher number of people who didn't support the bill. However, a percentage of them didn't support the legislation because it didn't go far enough.

Additionally, I don't believe Rasmussen calls cell phones. Many people don't even use landline phones today. Those people tend to be younger and more likely to be in favor of the legislation.

Take it for what it's worth. YMMV, etc., etc.

It doesn't matter how many in the herd want to stampede
over a bluff, if none oppose stampeding over the bluff,
stampedeing over a bluff still isn't a good idea and is self
destructive.

The problem is this is a horrible bill on almost every level,
how can it be law when they are still writing it??

You can put all the lipstick and pearls you want on this
pig and it still ain't going to fly.

So we start paying more taxes now and start getting
more benefits four years from now??

I have some wonderful beachfront property in North
Dakota, I'll let it go for a song.

We start getting more benefits four years from now
but after starting to pay for it now, we find that we
can't pay enough to keep it going for even ten or
fifteen years because it's going to cost more than
we can pay.

Somebody needs new batteries for their calorie calculators.

Let's be honest. Most American don't really know what's in the bill or what it does, other than get rid of the preexisting conditions screen.

Of those that think they know what's in it, two-thirds of them are simply wrong about what is in it, and half of them are way wrong.

Also, 72.3 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot.
