An Early Look At 5 Potential SEC Upsets

I will believe it when I see it! The Gators could only win one game next year and it will be against the Vols! They always find a way to get it done no matter how bad they play the rest of the season.

Truth.

Clemson will win 8 or 9 games even in a weak ACC. If you don't believe me just ask Duke.

I think Clemson will go 8-4 losing to UGA,FSU,Louisville and South Carolina. They will probably be in Atlanta for New Years Eve.

Duke is a pretty good football team.

They are pretty good in the ACC, had they played UT's schedule last season they would have done well to get 7-8 wins. A weak schedule can make a lots of teams look like a good football team. They were pitiful at times on defense.

In the words of Bobby Bowden, "Who would you rather play, Alabama or Duke?

I want to play Florida now that Butch is the coach. If you can't see he is building something good, then you don't know football. We will own Florida, Georgia, S.Carolina, Missouri, Vandy, and Kentucky. It is turning around, you will see. Butch is bringing in the recruits that turn programs around. When we do get it turned he will have a lot of 5 star guys wanting to play for Tennessee. We have a lot of pay back to hand out. And it wont be long before it starts.

I like how you think. :good!: :hi:

As bad as FL was last year, there is no reason us beating them should be an upset -- except fo the psychological factor. Spurrier gave the Vols the Gator "yips". We have had more talented teams lose to them several times. To beat them Butch needs to be more of a psychologist than a coach.

Where does this stuff come from?

7 in a row to bama
9 in a row to Florida
6 in a row to auburn
5 of the last 6 to lsu
5 of the last 6 to Georgia

It isn't psychological.

I posted this in another thread, since the Florida streak began, Tennessee has won 14 conference games against teams not named vandy and Kentucky.

10 of those were won by fulmer. Tennessee has won only 4 sec games against sec opponents not named vandy and Kentucky since 2009.

Don't tell me it's psychological. Tennessee has struggled with everybody in recent years. "Gators" on the side of the helmet is not a requirement.

Tired of losing to them, it's virtually an automatic loss every year. Lost 17 of the last 21 and the last 9.

The funny thing is, this is just what Georgia and LSU were saying about us back in the 80s and 90s, that they just couldn't beat us. These series have a way of pendulum swinging in the opposite direction, though I do recognize that the state of Florida will always be rich in talent.

I've been saying this is the year for about 8 years in a row so why stop now? Odds favor us more with each passing season. Of course I said odds... Not odds makers

The UT-Bama series has swung. They go on and nice streak, then we return the favor and go on a nice streak...although they lead the series, it's historically a 2 way fair. Florida on the other hand, has been a one way affair since 1976....they've won 22 of 28.....they've had win streaks of 4, 5 and now 9. During that time period our longest streak is 2 games which was done only once.

How did they win last year? I really don't see beating a 4-8 team being an upset. I'll even say TN should be favored in that game. Everyone is beating Florida since Coach Boom (think some wanted him as coach here).

Tennessee WILL be the first nail in his coffin this year. TN wins 28-10. (giving that UF awful offense 4th qtr garbage points). If Muschamp goes 6-6 or 7-5, he is fired.

While it's true we've has difficulties with everyone you listed the last 6-7 years, we've struggled Florida by far the most, to epic proportions, since freakin 1976....we're 6-22 vs you guys during that timespan. That's perhaps why some think there's something more at play, ie something "psychological". Not saying I agree, just trying to help offer an explanation.

Yes, it was bad but there were others. 1995 was a colossal meltown.

Letting them drive all the way down the field in 2000 was pretty bad as well. UT did everything right that day except score TD's.

I was at that 95 game. When Joey Kent got leveled over the middle the blow out began. It poured down rain and we folded. The first half was so much fun. The second half was miserable.
