I would have to say it does a little more. I witnessed it's affects first hand in college and while I don't believe it is addictive to the point that you can't stop, the idea of being high is very addictive. My roommate couldn't go to class in the morning without smoking his roaches from the night before. If he didn't have the money or couldn't find someone to buy off of, he was beside himself. He was angry and couldn't function everyday tasks. He was also very lazy and somewhat of a slob. You can become addicted to just about anything and show similar signs like these, I know. I love the guy and as far as I know, now, he has "cleaned" himself up, but watching him completely turned me off to potheads.
That being said, I drank entirely too much in college and was 1000 more times as wild as he was. His only concern was to get high and sit in a dark room and listen to music. My concern was getting drunk and going to that night's hang out spot. Usually driving recklessly to get there, and being an absolute idiot while I was there.
I do not feel that it should be illegal, but I, also, have no use for a pothead.
