And Why is TCU ranked ahead of Vols in the CFP Poll?

TV ratings do not want two teams from the same area if it can be justified. They will want a WC team, an SEC team, a Big 10 team, and a Big 12 team for ideal ratings. If they can find a way to justify that, they will do it. If TCU is undefeated at the end, they'll be in. The real threat to us is both that outcome and a big TV market team like USC.

TV ratings would be their highest ever if two SEC teams played in a semifinal game that happens to be in Atlanta this season..... Crowd would be a sellout.....

Now i'm very clear that the CFP won't want an all SEC semifinal, but if you want to use TV ratings as a reason for the CFP making certain selections, you are missing the fairly obvious.....

Peach Bowl in Atlanta with 2 SEC teams would literally top the very ratings you speak of as some big deciding factor.

TCU is an unbeaten Power 5 team.
There are only 4 and they all deserve the top 4 slots.

We're the best 1-loss team and deserve our #5 ranking.

With Oregon losing, OSU and Michigan playing each other, and TCU having two games that they could lose, we'll be fine.

Oregon was #6 and list last night, which gives us more cushion.

We'll be fine.

We should just leave the SEC, take Texas spot and they take ours. Be way easier to be undefeated every year. Oklahoma shows up, what, every 10 years?

Does LSU move to #6 or does USC jump them?

No reason for USC to jump LSU after last week’s rankings.

What are the takeaways from this week for each team:

#8 throttles 1 win Colorado

#7 wins SEC West and will play #1 in 3 weeks

There has been no change for the order to change besides Oregon losing which causes 8 to become 7 and 7 to become 6.

The SEC brings in the largest ratings. Teams like TCU brings nothing to the table, but an easy win for Georgia or Ohio State.

Some of y'all really need to chill. By any objective measure, Tennessee will be in the playoffs if they win out. We have a single loss on the road against the #1 team and many quality wins (including 2 against top 10 teams) and huge margins. Do you think there will be 4 teams with better resumes than that?

Georgia will be in, unless they lose a game and the SEC championship.
One of Ohio State and Michigan will be in as long as the winner is undefeated.
Tennessee is in as long as they win out.
TCU will be in if they're undefeated. If they drop a game, we'll either get a 2 loss LSU team that beats UGA or the loser of Ohio State and Michigan (as long as they only have one loss).

Overall, it's more likely that we get in as the #3 seed than the #4. Chill.

UT should get in and the CFP committee knows it. Even if TCU wins out, they will move the OSU/MI loser out of Top 4. Barring a shocking outcome of any of the games, I believe UT is in at #4 and higher if TCU falters.

We are still #5 in the AP and only a handful of points behind #4 TCU. The widest margin of votes in the entire poll is between us and #6 LSU - it’s a WIDE margin.

The Horned Frogs have five victories against ranked teams; same as Tennessee.

Boys and girls , TN ain’t getting in the playoffs. Not because they don’t deserve it , it’s because they are truly disliked . As far as TCU and Oregon , they are gonna find a way to win tonight . Oregon will jump TN with a win sadly . It’s all about the media darlings .
WRONG and UCLA goes down as well. All Pac 10 hopes are on USC. They have a hard tie to hoe! GBO
