I think you have to take his commitment if he wants to. You can always make room for one of the big 2 if they wanted to commit
Just seems like with him and Cornish being good friends we have a chance here. I remember Cornish posting that pic of them guarding each other on twitter the other day.
I think we need to wait on Looney and Black decision first then handle Kuzma.
The difficult part of that is how will it play out?
Kuzma hasn't set dates, but said he's looking to visit in September. Black is the end of September, and Looney hasn't set a date.
So...if Kuzma visits first and wants to commit, but Looney and Black have still yet to visit, what do you do? Slow play Kuzma and risk losing him in hopes you can pull one of the other two? What if you miss on all 3 as a result?
That's definitely the difficult part of recruiting, no doubt.
True or do you tell Kuzma he can commit but to stay silent until the decision of Looney and Black? I think you accept the commitment if his stock has improved like people are reporting, but see if he can be a silent. I don't know if it would scare off Black and Looney just an idea.
I think you definitely take his commitment if he wanted to commit before you know what the other 2 are gonna do. As you said you can always make room for one of the big 2 if they wanna come here. I would basically look at it like this, is Kuzma better than Reese or Q? IMO that one is a no brainer, should always look to improve the roster and if Martin has a chance to do that I would expect him to.
Kuzma is VERY high on Tennessee, I'm not just pulling that out of my a$$ (which you already knew). As you mentioned, Cornish and Kuzma are pretty good friends and you can bet Cornish is in his ear. IMO Kuzma will likely end up a Tennessee Volunteer.
I've thought this as well. Seems like it to me. AJ can't shoot as well though.
Right. AJ is more of a "4" than a "3." He's athletically gifted and may be able to grow IMO into a truer stretch 4 down the road. At this point, he's a lithe 4 that can handle the ball and slash the lane consistently around slower players. He'll need time to grow into his body and his growth spurt.
Isn't Kuzma and London the same type player as AJ Davis? Even with Cofer and Turman on board, IMO I think we will need some more big bodies in the post.
With Cofer, Turman and Ndiaye that's 3 guys who can all play center. Martin seems to really want to ad a versatile forward with this last spot, someone who can play the 3 or 4.
I'm one of the one's that is convinced that Pops is not going to be the quality of player that will log any minutes. So, IMO we have 2 freshman at post.
I think you'll be surprised then. I'm not claiming he's gonna be a star or anything, but Pops is better than Yemi and Yemi logged minutes. I think Pops will likely see 15-20 minutes a game next year, unless Turman turns out to be a freshman phenom or something.
He's not nearly as athletic as Yemi, IMO, from what I have seen. I thought Yemi was raw coming in as a Freshman, but he looked like as all star comparing to what I saw of Pops. He needs a lot of developing if he logs more than 10 minutes a game. From my assessment, he will have fouled out of most games before 10 minutes of playing.
