According to the medical examiner, the official cause of death is stated as "cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint and neck compression." The manner of death is homicide, a term the medical examiner uses to describe any death caused by the intentional actions of another person or persons.

That may be the case, but like I said in a separate post, there have been some cases of pretty unscrupulous ME's out there. I don't know anything about either of the docs that conducted the autopsies, but I know the state ME still said it was homicide but with the caveat that it was not an opinion on the legality.

I honestly don’t know what legal implication is if asphyxiation is/isn’t the cause. However it looks like the officer putting his knee on Floyd makes him culpable.

I'm no doctor and I didn't watch the entire video, but from the part I did watch I wonder if the way the officer had his knee on Floyd's neck began to cut off circulation of blood to his brain. That probably didnt help the situation.

Twitter also let a tweet from rapper and verified user Key Nyaya saying “maybe you need a bullet in the back of the skull” to journalist Cassandra Fairbanks remain on its platform for over 18 hours. Fairbanks, who has been receiving a wave of Twitter threats since criticizing the George Floyd riots, reported that her house was shot at in the early hours of Monday.

Did you read the state medical report? It is said right there that along with the drugs and medical condition, compression to the neck also caused it.

I get you want to focus on the drug and victim culpable part of it, but this was a homicide.
