The town I live in (a near suburb of Birmingham) curfew policy. In contrast most other suburbs including the city of Birmingham have curfews. Glad to live here.

The City of Vestavia Hills does not currently have plans to institute a curfew. We believe in the constitutional right to peacefully protest and, at this time, are respecting that right. If a protest were to occur in our city, it will be closely monitored and, at the first inkling of anything other than peacefulness, VHPD will draw on our mutual aid agreement with sister cities to immediately mobilize the threat. VHPD has no inclination to “wait and see.” Our police personnel are alert and ready.

Speaking at a Monday press conference about his area in Florida, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd issued a harsh message to those who would riot and destroy the area under his supervision, telling them, “If you come here to riot, to loot, to injure people, we’re gonna lock you up in the county jail before ‘quick,’” and warning that if they targeted residential neighborhoods, his message to residents would be, “I’m highly recommending they blow you back out of the house with their guns.”

Why are law enforcement not closing off these groups and arresting them all instead of letting them run away? A game of cat and mouse, and common sense is losing.

No Charges Will be Filed Against Omaha Bar Owner Who Fatally Shot Protester

No charges will be filed against the Omaha, Nebraska, bar owner who fatally shot a protester on Saturday during the third night of riots that have broken out over the death of George Floyd.

Jake Gardner, the owner of The Hive bar in Omaha, will not be charged in the death of James Scurlock, a protester whom he fatally shot in self-defense on Saturday night, according to a report by Omaha World Herald.

Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine said on Monday at a press conference that after reviewing evidence and talking to witnesses, it has been determined that Gardner shot Scurlock in self-defense. Kleine also played a video of the confrontation at the press briefing.

The reporting is definitely over the top and ridiculous, but that doesn’t mean the story is wrong.

There was in fact a peaceful protest during non-curfew hours, it was broke up with tear gas and riot shields, then Trump walked across the street for a photo op in front of a Church that he didn’t have prior authorization to be there with a Bible that he didn’t even own.

The idea that this was bizarre, and a circus, isn’t exactly wrong.

It was also reported he did so because he was upset at the coverage of him going to the bunker the night before. It was also rumored that Secret Service was caught off guard as well and had to scramble to get it ready.

CNN is jumping all over this like a kid hopped up on sugar with epilepsy, but that doesn’t take away that the whole sequence of events was low rent reality TV.

A fundraising campaign set up by George Floyd’s family has raised more than $6.3 million since his death.

Floyd’s younger brother, Philonise, created a GoFundMe page this week to help the family “cover funeral and burial expenses,” along with mental and grief counseling for the family. A portion of the money will also go to benefit and educate Floyd’s children as well as travel and lodging as the family continues to “seek justice for George.”

The coroner has already listed method of restraint as a contributing factor. Strangulation and asphyxiation would come from pressure on the front of neck and larynx. Pressure on the back is listed if the officers hand book as inherently dangerous.

For example, people don’t die because their heart quits beating. They die because their brain becomes injured or oxygen deprived.

Pressure to the throat/airway inhibits oxygen to the lungs.
pressure to the back and side of neck limits blood taking oxygen and to the brain.

Even limiting this in someone with a health condition could be deadly.

People die all the time because their heart doesnt function correctly. What do you think is the etiology of the oxygen deprivation in some of these cases?
