Another bad apple (George Floyd case)

He has a point, the Civil Rights Act got fast-tracked more because of riots in Birmingham and the fear of civil war than because of peaceful protests. Voting Rights Act too, tbh
Still waiting for your ONE example of any person put in prison for just simple possession of marijuana and no other criminal issues

In large part he is right. I’ve seen some of all races protesting but I’ve only seen one race looting and vandalizing. Portland doesn’t count.
Have you been watching the coverage? Literally every third or fourth person I've seen looting has been Caucasian.

Just saw 10 state trooper SUVs 65N at the Williamson/Davidson County line headed toward downtown. Saddle up boys.

You drive a Ford Bronco?

That is an unacceptable intangible answer as everyone wants it to stop. Otherwise this is just vengeance.
People who have nothing to lose and no way to change the system will do things like this. Obviously, you have the criminal elements involved, but you also have people that are genuinely upset and feel disenfranchised.

No way to change what system?

I am honestly confused what their demands are. I have seen politician after politician get on TV and say it has to stop. Ok.
There are already laws on the books to address justice so I am unsure what else could be enacted. Maybe better police policy and prosecutors, but now we are getting into the political realm and most of the city leaders are already Dem and all talk no action. Which leads me to ask, why is there no outrage against the city leaders who are executives and allowed these things to happen on their watch? We know why.

Well its obvious that they want police violence on civilians to stop.

are you really asking this question or are you trolling right now?
I could ask you the same thing.

No more police violence at all huh? Great demand. We can make that happen. Stop policing all high crime areas. I'm sure that will fix all their problems instantly.

Did you see the same video I saw? I think the idea of putting a knee on a handcuffed man is a reasonable first step. I think most people with common sense would know that is wrong. For that matter, I think most people with common sense would know what the catalysts for the riots were and what the desired outcome from the riots would be.

You all can't really be this dense.

The justice system, for starters. Black people in particular have been complaining about police violence for longer than I've been alive, yet, no matter how many peaceful protests or riots occur over the decades, we still seem to have cops that can't seem to get it right.

Yea, the world isnt perfect and we should always want better. However, there is not a systemic effort to get black people.

Cops mess up all the time.

How does rioting and committing violent acts supposed to help?
It is an emotional reaction. The hope is that if they create enough terror and chaos, that the system will change. Obviously, we know that isn't going to happen.

Its basically come down to riots being a way to just let off emotional steam.

I've got this crazy idea that everybody is responsible for their actions and any other claims should have substantial evidence.

All white people are responsible for one white person.

All black people are responsible for one black guy.

All cops are responsible for one cop.

I'm not going to play that game with you.

We can talk about crime demographics, causality in police violence, whatever you want. I think the protest stays as vague as possible because they know the facts won't bear out the narrative.

Man this is good but so unreceptive by so many.

Go back and read what I said. I said that blacks in particular have been the ones mostly complaining about police abuse.

these riots, on the other hand, are a new phenomenon. You actually have a significant number of other races amongst the rioters. That is a larger problem. that means that you have a wider group of people that either feel disenfranchised or feel that they have nothing to lose and want to join in on the mayhem.
