Another GOP Grifter (Boebert)

These anecdotal "dad" or "grandad" stories from the good ol' days are not germane to the situation with Boebert. She was born in 1986, and she did not finish high school until she was 33 years old. That is highly unusual for a person who doesn't appear to have any disabilities which might impair her ability to learn. She is also a member of Congress. It is fair to expect better than that from someone who wishes to help make laws in the United States of America.
My dad who dropped out of school to work in the mines and help Feed his siblings didn’t get his GED until his mid 40s. He went to night school after I got home from school. But he read like Crazy and became one of the smartest people I knew. He also made darn sure to start saving money for me to be able to go to college myself so that he would be the last in the Family line of generations of coal miners. I thank God for my „uneducated“ father.

Did you not see or read the actual words out of her mouth? My goodness man, it's her tweet from her device. It isn't anything other than HER words. There isn't any question what SHE said!

You're brainwashed to the point at which you dispute factual events
Okay, are you being sarcastic here? Which one are you talking about that indisputably proves beyond all doubt she is a barely functional human human being?

I looked at four in this thread. Two are liberals attacks on her (pffft!). One is an obvious bad joke (Jesus didn have enough AR-15s) and the other was her pointing out the blatant hypocrisy of Congress. Did I miss one?

I never claimed she was barely functional.

Wow, you are so brainwashed

Once again, these anecdotal "dad" and "grandad" stories are not relevant to Lauren Boebert, who was born in 1986, and is currently a member of Congress.

I actually think her speech is recorded too

You were ready to dismiss this factual event. That's why I claimed you are brainwashed. Your initial claim was one of pure, unsubstantiated rhetoric in the face of fact
I think you have me confused with someone else, either that or enlighten me what factual event I was aware of that I dismissed. I may have, but going back through our exchanges, I have no idea what you are referring to in this post.

Watch this video.

From the :19 second to the :22 second mark in the video, she claims that,

"The church is supposed to direct the government."

That is showing complete ignorance of the United States Constitution.

Seems quite relevant actually. The proposition is that someone who failed to graduate HS when their peers did, is unqualified to be successful in a given position, specifically that of a member of Congress. Tsar, myself and others have provided examples of people who either achieved their diplomas late in life or never did but proved to be quite successful. None were congressman (maybe they were too smart for that?), but given their respective levels of competence, most would have have a better than average chance of being successful in public service.

We disagree.

She was born in 1986, and didn't earn a high school diploma, or an equivalent thereof, until she was 33 years old in 2020. That is unusual. Most jobs in public service do require at least a high school diploma. That is reality in the 21st century.

Repubiars want your brain because they don't have one.

Okay! Now I see what the hullabaloo is all about.

You’re right! Four whole seconds! Stone her!

If she truly believes we should have a theocracy, I disagree with her strongly. But having grown up in the Bible Belt, I have known a number of very competent people (including a few medical doctors, who probably believe something close to that). Some were very good community leaders. May have made good congressmen, but I would oppose them over implementation of a theocracy.

Within the context of the short clip, I think it was a poorly worded bit in those four seconds. I do not know that for a fact, just my take. She was correct about the “separation of church and state” that is constantly quoted as being from a letter (Jefferson to the Danbury Baptists, I believe).

Don’t really have a dog in the hunt here about her. If those four seconds have you guys convinced she should not be in Congress, have at it. But there is an old saw about glass houses.

By the way, it is quite incorrect to state I was “ready to dismiss this factual event.” I was unaware of it as I did not read the entire thread or click on all the links. If you find where I did as you stated, I was quite wrong to have done so because I had no idea about such an event so I would have no comprehensible reason to dismiss it.

That you were unaware of current events is a compelling argument for my point

An additional reality of the 21st century is that HS diploma is hardly worth the paper it is printed on with regards to the actual education attained by the holder.

It looks like you didn't watch the whole video.

She also claims that the Constitution doesn't address separation of church and state, and that is also wrong. As I pointed out earlier, separation of church and state is derived from The Bill of Rights.

... and I don't see how that could be defended as simply being "poorly worded." She didn't misspeak. She truly believes that the church directs the government in the United States of America... because she is a moron.

Maybe so... but it's a bad look for a 33 year old in the year 2020, not to have one. It's laziness as much as anything else.

She clearly could have used a Civics class while she was in high school.

I did watch the whole video. Kindly point out where “separation of church and state“ is quoted in the Bill of Rights. I will save you the time because it is not there.

Correction: I misread your response. You said derived; my mistake.

checking my copy of the us constitution…….
Nope, no requirement for a high school diploma To serve in the United States House of Representatives. So your assertion at least does not apply to THIS particular job in public service.

I said to MOST jobs in public service... we already know that any doofus can be elected. She sure could have used a Civics class, however.

It always amuses me the level of pretend reverence for a phantom stipulation mistakingly attributed to the Constitution (separation of church and state) from the same people who daily scoff and ridicule something that IS actually in the Constitution (the right to bear arms)
