Another GOP Grifter (Boebert)

High schools are graduating functionally illiterate students today.

Again, nothing but personal anecdote, but in the 90s when my employees were a mixed crew, the Mexicans with their equivalent "6th" grade education were significantly better, on average, at math than the high school graduate natives. Diplomas today, with some exceptions, are good to keep in case of another toilet paper shortage.

I don't think you're making your point. The argument is the comparison isn't the same. You seem to be arguing the same thing.

I don't think so. Again, the proposition put forth is Boebert is unqualified to hold a position because she gained her GED years after her peer high school class graduated.

My argument is a high school diploma is a poor indicator of a person's ability. Whether Boebert is or is not good at being a member of Congress has absolutely zero to do with whether she graduated on time, 18 years later or never.

It's not really. She couldn't even complete one of the most basic tasks in this country. As you mentioned above, even functionally illiterate students can get a HS diploma. It's definitely an indicator that she should not be anywhere close to a decision maker

You said that any idiot could graduate high school right now. Yet she couldn't.

No, I said that high schools were graduating functionally illiterate students. In other words, the "education" they are "providing" is worthless, therefore it stands to reason that the possession of a high school diploma indicates nothing really worthwhile. There are exceptions to this, of course. I know nothing of her background or why she did not graduate on time.

It is not an indicator of anything relevant to her job. There may be other indicators, but a HS diploma is not one for a specific individual. Not anymore it isn't.

But if you believe that, knowing nothing else would you rather hire someone who dropped out their senior year from a private school due to exigent circumstances or someone who graduated from the average public school? After all, the latter has that diploma. Me? I'm going private school every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

That might not be the right decision, as there are many other factors that could come into play. But the solitary fact of a diploma? Pfft.

I don't think I said that anywhere. You are inferring a different meaning from what I said. You done that now at least a couple of times in this thread.

It may be true that any idiot can graduate from high school. But what I said was high schools are graduating people who are functionally illiterate, two entirely different things. If you do not understand the difference, I regret it, but I'm not spending the time to explain it to you.

Seems like somebody should explain it to you.

Digging a hole and calling it a hill doesn’t increase its elevation.

Does that go for anyone who didn't graduate HS?

Over the last few years we have focused more on hiring college graduates for even the entry level labor or office jobs for the simple fact that most college graduates can at least read at more than a middle school level and do basic math.

Stop playing a fictional game with yourself in your condition. You rustled jimmies are severely affecting your performance. It’s comical.

Learn to write a coherent sentence. I don't have high hopes for you because you cannot fix stupid.

It is ridiculous to suggest that every member of Congress is as uneducated as Lauren Boebert. She did not even have a high school diploma until 2 years ago.
And this is somehow wrong by someone who post toward the liberal cause.
