Another set of transfers

ONO is a lean to SC and has been for a while.

Also McCoy isn't athletic or skilled enough to be a stretch 4 pretty much ANYWHERE, not just at SC.

Would that take Ododa out of consideration or would Staley want both?

Shepard only has two years of eligibility.. and she wouldn't be available until 2018, same as Nelson-Ododa.. so that could be tricky if Olivia doesn't want competition. SC rotates a lot at the 4 and 5 though, so there's no reason both wouldn't get substantial playing time.

Not sure what others are saying; I'm saying that it's a team effort for both wins and losses. I do think a lot of our losses are from missing routine shots that then affected the desire to play defense. But I think the coach owns some of that.

You seem to ignore the first 4 years of HW coaching when there were championships, 30-win season, etc. There's been some sort of a chemistry issue that seemed to me to improve some this year after lat year's low. Not saying she's the best coach ever, but she is our coach. And maybe she deserves a little more respect than she gets considering all the facts and circumstances. Jmo.

Of course I give Holly credit for her success at the start of her HC career. I was actually a supporter of hers for the first few years. Sure, there were some things I wished she could improve but overall I thought she was doing a pretty good job except for not preparing the team better for their NCAAT games where the losses were the result of playing scared. But I stopped backing her after last season, and then especially since it carried over into this season. There is undoubtably a chemistry issue, and it is the head coach's responsibility to fix that...and she has been unable to do that for 2 consecutive seasons. When that happens, the buck stops at the HC, not the players.

I'm not sure what you mean by "facts and circumstances". Is it following Pat? I think that if the hire came from outside "The Family", they would have been scrutinized even more with the same results. If anything, Holly gets off lightly because she was Pat's chosen successor.

I hope the incoming frosh have not been programmed to be the "saviors" of UT basketball! When that happens it has a very negative effect on ALL the players, including the "savior."

After Baylor nabbed Cox, Momph, and Brown ... anything is possible people.

True! I agree in a sense. However, I would add that Brown is strictly a (5), Momph is a (4) and Cox can play the (3) or (4). Cox is developing range on her shot. They're really not competing against each other for a position.

With a total of 15 scholarships available the McCoy sisters are worth the risk. Kim Mulkey once burned a 'ship on Tiffanie Blackmon to secure the services of her twin sister, Stephanie. Tiffanie ended up becoming a student-trainer which freed up her scholarship.

Many top programs don't use all of the scholarships available to begin with. Last season Geno had ten and Mulkey had 13 scholarship players. As is, Alexandria Gulley will be transferring out and Alyssa Dry will remain at Baylor on a medical scholarship.

This will leave the Bears with 7 scholarship players and four newcomers arriving in the fall for a total of 11 'ships accounted for to date. The numbers will always work themselves out.

Momprimer transferring from Baylor. Is that the one MTSU was referring to?

She is one of them. I don't expect her to come to Tennessee, but I do think that Holly will make contact. I think she will go somewhere closer to her home in Florida.

The other has not announced yet, and she may decide to stay at her current school.

Tennessee was a runner up for her ,it'll be a great opportunity for her to be in orange.

Why would you expect her not to come to Tennessee? Just curious ?

Is this other "possible transfer" someone who could step in and contribute right away once eligible?

I was told she was homesick and wants her family to be able to see her play. That wasn't happening at Baylor.

University of Miami would be the closest of course. University of Florida is about 7 hours away ... Florida state is about 9 hours while knoxville is about 12 hours away. Unless she went to a school like FGCU which is about 2.5 hours drive from Miami.

Is TENNESSEE closer than Baylor? 🤔

If it were her, how could we not be favored to win it all next year?

She would be a senior next year... mtsu stated in an earlier post that the transfer would help alleviate if we didn't get ONO or another post in the 18 class and would play along side KK, Green, and Harris. Wouldn't she have to sit out again if she transferred unless she is a grad transfer... then she would use up her last season during the 17-18 campaign. So I don't think he was speaking of her. Could have been but who knows...

12 hours compared to 20 so yes much but if playing closer to home and her family seeing her play more is a factor there are FL schools who are closer than us... don't get me wrong she is good and I hope she gives us a chance. Maybe her and Rennia's family can travel together?

The saviors of the Lady Vol program, at least for next year, are Diamond, Russell, Cooper, Nard, Middleton, Jackson, Green, (Unless there is a mircule, Courtney and Harris sets this one out, with Courtney making some minor contributions.), contributions from the crop coming in ( Though one might even crack the starting lineup) and oh yea, the coaching. If the exlerienced players and coaching can't make it happen, then we are back to, "Wait until next year and discussing who will replace Holly." At bare minimum next year, the Lady Vols are a top five team in talent. I really do not see room for any excuses or placing pesssure on the new recruits to make major contributions, like right now, or the program is headed to hell in a handcart.

Why is this in the thread about transfer athletes LOL. However, since you did place this in the thread I guess your ability to spell is going right along in that basket to hell with the program ? LOL
