Anti-Trump Hysteria and Silliness

People like him and in his position usually are.

It's a sad indictment on our society that the people most qualified to lead wouldn't dare to put themselves in that position.

Instead we keep electing self serving douche bags into the highest positions, knowing what they are going to do to enrich themselves while we fight about how "our" guy is better.

His lack of eloquence should even make the right wing cringe. Case in point: calling Kim Jong-un a "smart cookie" and saying that he would be "honored" to meet with him under the right circumstances. "Honored"? Seriously, Donnie?

This is one thing me and you agree on.

Come on now, that's some serious nitpicking.

Dude.

Phyllis from Mulga cringes when Trump starts talking.

Maybe, I guess... but it's like "bad hombres". If he wasn't President I wouldn't care but damn this guy is inarticulate. Shouldn't we expect better? And "smart cookie"? Who talks like that?

He was being honest. He likes dictators and "strong-men" like Putin. He probably admires Kim Jong-un. Otherwise, why speak in this manner about an insane country that would love to see us all running from faulty missiles.

It isn't just our society, but any society. Past presidents, senators, the Founding Fathers, etc. weren't exactly the morally upstanding people we believe them to be. Some were good people, some weren't, but as a whole they weren't any more moral or principled than today's cast of politicians.

When you have an entity that collects and doles out money that doesn't belong to it, and the people who run it are elected democratically by the general public, all sorts of unsavory characters are going to want to control it.

To put your adversary at ease prior to negotiations. A little innocuous compliment and show of willingness to listen under the right circumstances. What would you rather Trump do? Start bombing NK?

This is evident with how he treats the press and Congress: he limits access to the press because "they are unfair" while at the same time suggesting radical rule changes in the two branches of government he has no business meddling with, because "they are unfair."

He hasn't done this much. Maybe he should. Or at least stop doing interviews that make it clear he doesn't know what he's talking about.

"Would be honored to meet with Kim".

No way can we let that happen. If Kim says nice things to Trump he will just give him South Korea, maybe Japan too.

Something between bombing and hearing the words "smart cookie" describing an egomaniacal scumbag that slaughters his own people from the President's mouth.

True, but Trump doesn't have to say everything that comes through his mind. One can be respectful without being complimentary.

What difference does it make? There is a mountain of legitimate **** you guys have to criticize him over but ya'll spend time over nitpicky trash. If the little prick gets a bump in his ego because POTUS said something nice about him and he comes to the table, is that bad?

I spend time criticizing all of it. I learned that from Republicans during Obama's administration. It was effective strategy then, as it is now.

I wish I could get behind him, but I legitimately believe he is a threat to the Republic.

He's not a threat to the Republic, we have way to many checks and balances even if he were. Worst case is he gets his tax reform passed and that's all he gets done.

I feel pretty confident in saying that the nomination of Gorsuch will be the best and perhaps most significant thing he gets done in his Presidency, regardless of whether it is 4 or 8 years.
