Antonio Richardson tweet

You are right. We should be congratulating them on an excellent performance against South Alabama. Was is South Alabama? My football directory only lists teams that have played more than 50 games in their existence. It is a fan forum. People are allowed to express their opinions.

1.)You are right we should be congratulating them on a win because if this was a team coached by the last staff they would have quit and probably lost that game. 2.)Get a new football directory the one you have from 1983 is outdated more team play football now. 3.)People are allowed to express their opinions but when they are dumb as hell they should keep them to themselves. The idea of who is a fan and who isn't is debatable, I say if you can't support these players and the coach ( one who is only 5 games into his tenure by the way) then maybe you aren't as much of a fan as you think. Are they above criticism? No, but good God, this team is devoid of talent and at least I've seen effort which is more than what I've seen the last 3 years. And you have a coach who is at least making an effort to reach out to the fan base. If you're able to, go to the games cheer like hell and hope this team wins not just decide to be a fan when they are ranked and winning.

Hey Antonio, if you happen to visit the message boards and see this, the word fan is short for fanatics. People are always going to be passionate about their team especially at a place like tn. We're never going to be happy about having to fend off and barely beast a cusa team. Neither would any other fan base with any history. Hell Vandy has no history and even they wouldn't accept this type of performance. Time for this team, and oline, to grow up and win something meaningful.

I'm all about supporting our team but they shouldnt start tweeting about how good they're doing until they do it against somebody that matters.

What are you smoking? I love the "devoid of talent" phrase.

DO YOU WANT ME TO KEEP ON GOING???
I love the VOLS but my head isn't stuck up my *ss.
South Alabama joined the FBS in 2012 after the program started in 2009.
Quit whining about talent. We have it, especially compared to directional schools. It's time to execute plays and we need to be coached up to our talent.
PS. Please don't comment about attrition.

You are a moron if you do not think attrition factors into recruiting. I do not need to but go back and look at each of those classes and see who is currently contibuting on the current team.

You might be somewhat slow if you think South Alabama has near the talent we do. The devoid of talent is a lame excuse in my opinion. I think we have plenty of talent to be competitive. Honestly, the Oregon game hurt me to watch more than the South Alabama. Oregon could have scored 80 against us if they wanted too. Our offensive line has 4 potential NFL players. Our coach prefers to run a read option with a QB with no mobility. Our LB's are very good. Our secondary has talent as well. Attrition did severely hurt us when Kiffin left, but not so much in the past 2 seasons. We did have WR's go to the draft, but Dooley shouldn't have redshirted all the freshman WR's.
Bottom line- if you honestly feel South Alabama has similar talent than the Vols, then your points are correct. I simply do not feel the same.

I never said we did not have more talent than South Alabama and the better team won. I was resonding to your comment to not bring up attrition when you talk recruiting. It ia illogical to believe that attrition has not hurt the talent on this team.

To address you QB comment I do not believe Worley could run a pro style offense so why run a offense that is not going to be any more sucessful than what we run now for one season.

if you loved the Vols then you would know that the 2009 class only contained about 5 players that contributed and you would also know that the majority of the 2010 class outside of the o-line is gone. of course you would also know that the 2012 was horrendous and included such studs Devontae Borque, Deion Bonner, Daniel McCullers, Nathan Peterman, and Dante Phillips who are really lighting it up considering only 2 of them remain on the team :lolabove: So yes they do have the talent as of right now of a Conference USA team

Everyone is feeling frustrated tonight. Let's all calm down and celebrate a Win and start prepping for Georgia.

Won't happen. Everyone with less that 300 post will try to call the players out. They have NO perspective. It the fast food mentality of this dang country. Forget hard work. Instant gratification Lets pay fast food workers $15 an hour

I rpobably agree that our talent is not much more than a Conference USA team at this point. We are playing walk ons in the secondary, a QB who would not play on any other team in the SEC and we are down to our 3rd and 4th string d lineman.

I find it a waste of my time to argue with most on here but true football minds know that it does not matter how good your o line is if your team is one dimensional you will struggle.

In any event, talent or no, this thread is full of fans disparaging the players on their team for...

Winning a football game.

I'll pause to let that sink in.

He'll be all Sun Belt conference. I'll bet they don't rush for 278 total next 3 games.

Yeah keep going, nothing that you have posted relates to the fact that this team doesn't have talent at key areas and if you can't see that then your head is obviously up your ass or somebody else's.

Those are good points. One question though, if Worley can't run a pro style or read option offense, what offense can her run? He was the Gatorade player of the year.

What "key" area do we not have talent? You said talent, not even good or great talent.

i like Tiny.

He needs to ignore fans. Worse than this at the next level.

Are we even sure he was talking about fans? I took it as if he was talking about the SA player who was trash talking him towards the end of the game.

He was but I do not believe he has progressed the way he should have. I do not know if it is the coaching he was getting or just plain lack of talent.

I do know that he has no chance of being sucessful in this offense and I believe he will transfer at the end of the season to a smaller school with a offense that better suits him.

Lol tiny...it was south Alabama, it expected son

So why are people complaing about running for 278 yards?

I can think of several possible reasons...their mommas dropped em on their heads when they were babies....they missed the short bus on the way to the game and are pissed...special ed failed them when teaching simple math....the drool from their mouths dripped down to their brain pan, located about where they sit, and killed some brain cells.

Pretty much one of those....

So why are people complaing about running for 278 yards?

Because it was first and goal from the 2 yd line and our outstanding OL could not prevent a C-USA defense from dropping our RB for a 2 yd loss....That's why! If we score there it's 31-7 at half-time and game over as we enter the locker room....BUT------------

I am not going to criticize this staff this season BUT if I were to have a complant I thought we should have tried to run it one more time in that situation. If I remeber correctly it was 2nd down and we still had one time out remaining so we could have run and then threw for it on third down.

If I am learning one thing though about this staff is that they are aggresive and players are going to play it their way no matter the outcome.
