Anxiety mounting

[RDU VOL#14]

We’ve had everyone fawning all over us this week, I just want us to come out ready to roll. We’re in uncharted territory. If HH wasn’t our experienced QB I would be a lot more concerned.

We’ve come so far and everyone is saying that the loser is out of the CFP. We’re playing for keeps now . I’m nervous .

I’ve tried not to think about it…but The Game is always there, gently soothing me to sleep at night and rudely slapping me awake in the morning.

Having previously lived in GA for 30 years, I’ve felt the pain and frustration, and have put up with the obnoxious Dawg fans and their imbecilic barking and boasting for a long time (with 2016 being the glorious exception). Prior to the season, I hoped we could just compete and not be embarrassed. Now it’s a different story, and the Dawgs know it. We can all say it doesn’t matter, but we know better. It does matter.

So yeah, I’m nervous, I’m anxious, I’m excited, and I’m looking forward to the showdown. Win or lose, Go. Big. Orange, but a win will make it so much sweeter! Give ‘em hell boys…give ‘em hell.

Normally I'm nervous on the Friday before the game. But not today. I feel strangely confident about this one.

Same.......I was nervous for LSU, Florida, and even Kentucky........hopeful for Bama.......but, for this game I'm oddly confident and feel we may win this one by a couple TD's. Just something about this team and their swagger and I just feel Georgia cant keep up matching scores.

I'm not nervous in the least. I'm just anxious. Been sitting at my computer the time click by, tapping my heel. It's just taking forever.

I am absolutely nervous. We win this, we basically sleep walk into the SEC Champ game.

Imagine how we would all feel tomorrow night if we beat Georgia and LSU beats Bama. It would nearly lock up an LSU-Tennessee SEC Championship game, and that sounds wonderful.

Not to mention we are basically a lock for the playoffs at that point. Give me allll of Clemson in a playoff game.

Oddly enough, I'm calm. We've been here a couple of times this year with everything to prove and proved it. I believe in these guys.

I feel like our players and coaches have done a great job of being prepared to play these games! When you are well prepared there is nothing to be nervous about!

Not really. I would love to win, but it's a coin flip matchup. After 8-0, the idea of 11-1 being our realistic floor and 12-0 the ceiling...I'm just along for the ride now. Would love to get back to the SECCG and go 12-1 or 13-0, but 11-1 UT will still be in the CFP hunt. I was WAY more nervous for UF and LSU and way more excited during Bama.

Nope. Not in the least. Enjoying a Big Orange Friday. Ran into Kroger earlier, heard a few Go Big Orange! Got to the checkout and a BAMA fan wished us luck this weekend. I left wondering if I was in an alternative universe or still asleep.

I'm eager, not nervous. Georgia hasn't haunted us like Florida and Alabama over the years, we actually haunt them. We've taken far more from them winning against them than they have us over the last 30 years.

I think it depends upon whether your hopes and expectations have been adjusted based on what is actually happening. This team is going to go beyond anyone's expectations at the start of the season - thus win or lose - we all should be happy.

But, and there is always a but - this team has the opportunity to end up in a championship game either the SEC the CFP or both. That hasn't happened very often in the history of this program. If that doesn't make you anxious or nervous with anticipation, then maybe you should check your pulse!

Has anyone been this anxious before a game? I am 31 years old and have followed the Vols since the Peyton Manning days, watching games with my dad. I have been a faithful fan throughout my life and can’t recall being so excited/ anxious for a game. It’s getting hard to concentrate at work without checking what’s happening on ESPN or other media outlets talking about the Vols! Is anyone else feeling like this? GBO
