Anxiety mounting

I feel the calm also. For me, It’s because we have nothing to lose and everything to gain. We have risen so quickly while getting to experience one epic game after the next without any let downs. A huge contrast from so many mediocre seasons. I can’t be disappointed now.

As we have won more games, I have expected us to keep winning.

When the last pass against Florida was caught by us for a pick rather than by Florida for a TD, it really took any pressure off for the season.

Against LSU, our last scoring drive that ate clock and added points showed me that JH could grow from a win.

Against Alabama we showed that when the breaks go against us we could put on more steam.

Georgia will be another test for our team. I expect we will get their best game. I also expect we will give them our best game so far. Each week I have seen improvement. I have no reason to expect anything different this week.

It’s weird but I really don’t. I don’t think think I’ve ever had more of a “playing with House money” feeling going into a big game.

This is me, haven’t been nervous since we beat Florida. At this point the worst case IMO is 11-1 and a New Year’s Day bowl. After what we’ve been through that is amazing. Anything on top of that is just pure icing on the cake.

If they win that will be awesome and hopes of a national championship still on the table. If they lose, that sucks, but I try to keep in mind that this is just a game kids almost half my age are playing in. I’ll still have my family, job, hobbies, and friends. It’s just a game at the end of the day. Nothing I personally do has any impact on the outcome. I’m not drawing up plays or working out with the team. So if UT does win (or lose) the outcome is 100% out of my control. FWIW I think UT pulls it off 42-24. This is a special year.
I agree; think we win by at least 14 but more likely 21+. Just don't think the dawgs can hang despite their better & more 4-5 star players.

It's the only thing I can concentrate on this week so far lol. Been playing different scenarios in my head all week
I woke up today thinking it was Wednesday and didn’t realize until around 10:00 am that it was Thursday and I was so pumped to lose one day of the week and be closer to game time!

I don’t get the house money perspective at all. The East is on the line, a playoff spot is on the line, and just thinking of Georgia fans spending a year saying “Them vawls was number one until they met them dawgs!! Woof woof woof!” or whatever they do is sickening.

i have never been more relaxed in my life. this team should play loose with nothing to lose. im gonna be enjoying my smoker and some whiskey :)

I was useless Florida week. Even more so with bama on deck; I had to ditch work and go backpacking the latter half of the week. No nerves whatsoever for this one. WGWTFA!

This team has won my heart with how they play together! They remind me of our beloved 85’ Sugar Vols in how they really play as a team and care for each other! I’m excited about their opportunity on Saturday to walk into possibly one of the great out of nowhere stories in college football history! Go Vols!

Strangely, I've not given it a ton of thought. I've already shared my feelings about how I think the game is going to go. We're playing with house money this week, so if we lose we lose. We are already so far ahead of where I thought we'd be at this point, anything more is just a bonus to me now.

I’m like several on here… the emotions spent during the Alibubba game exhausted me and now that we are here, I am confident and we have a great chance to win this game in enemy territory.

CJH has this team executing, in a groove and prepared to play. They have the mental mindset that they can win in every situation and have produced against great competition.

Personally I feel all the pressure is on UGA. We are battle tested, they are not. they are ranked where they are on reputation alone and being the reigning NC instead of quality wins at this point. It’s all on them to prove themselves to the masses. They are the ones feeling the pressure.

WGWTFA. #GBO and Happy Friday!

I rewrote a song a bit...

Happy days are here again.

Just grab yourself a beer my friend,

Have no fear because we'll WIN again,

Happy days are here again!!!

Just sing that over and over and grab a baseball bat and BEAT that old Battered Vols Syndrome to death, slide it under a rock and into a deep dark cavern to hell.

BEAT that BVS like our beloved footVOL Team is going to BEAT those ugly UGa bullFRAWGS Tomorrow!!!

Smokey RULES...UGA just sits and drools.

VFL...GBO!!!

Average TN fan.......
TN wins - euphoria - a continuation of a once in a lifetime magical season.
GA wins - disappointed, but still pumped about the season and the future.

Average GA fan..........
GA wins - relief, season salvaged
TN wins - bitter disappointment - the end of the short lived high of the NC - loss of their position at the head of the table which they thought they would hold for years to come.

GA feels the pressure and the anxiety, not us!!!!!!!!

Not really nervous about the game. Sure, I would love to see us beat UGA. I would love to see us win the SEC and another Natty. But at the end of the day, I had us at 9-3 before the season kicked off. This team has exceeded every expectation I had. I would be fine with 11-1 and a NY6 bowl victory. Looking back to where we were 2 years ago, I believed it would be another decade of darkness before we had national relevance again. So win or lose tomorrow, this team has been, and is special. No other team has endured what this team went through, and demonstrated the turnaround that we have seen. GBO!

Here's a quick fix for any anxiety.

"The reason we’ve gotten to the point where this is a big football game is because we’ve handled things the right way,” added Heupel. “Coaches and players alike. Preparation and practice and understanding the type of football team (we’re playing). This is a really good football team and they’ve (Georgia) been winning for a while.”

They remember what you do in November.

Has anyone been this anxious before a game? I am 31 years old and have followed the Vols since the Peyton Manning days, watching games with my dad. I have been a faithful fan throughout my life and can’t recall being so excited/ anxious for a game. It’s getting hard to concentrate at work without checking what’s happening on ESPN or other media outlets talking about the Vols! Is anyone else feeling like this? GBO
Florida--anxious
LSU--anxious
Alabama--anxious

This game? no....why? pressure is on UGA....win or lose we should still be in a good spot (as long as not blown out). If UGA losses, their run to a CFP is likely over.

Beginning of season I expected 9-3 with losses to UF, UGA and Ala.....we are now looking at what should be 11-1 at the WORST....if you would have told me that at the beginning of the year, I'd ask for a hit of what you were smoking.

That being said....GBO...

No, I never get on message boards.

I’m not because they 2022 Volunteers are a great undefeated team that has defeated a great Alabama team in a high scoring thriller, they steamrolled the LSU Tigers in LSU, they steamrolled the Wildcats 44-6 with the defense playing an excellent game including the Wildcats couldn’t score a garbage touchdown in the 4th Quarter.

The Tennessee Volunteers have a realistic chance to defeat the Georgia Bulldogs in Georgia by playing a great game.

The 2022 Volunteers look like a team destined for greatness after they defeated the Crimson Tide 52-49 in an unforgettable amazing game.
