LBs and DEs are not equal? I dont' believe that.

Anyways, all those numbers are great but I never said there weren't color descrepencies at certain positions. There is no evidence why those numbers are the way they are. I maintain coincidental tendencies.

The best explination is that white and black kids tend to aspire to different possisions when they are young. That probably corrilates with those kids following thier childhood idols that played that same position. But now NFL qb stats are skewed because so many college QBs go into the league and play different possitions based on thier skill set. There are a tremendous amount of black qbs being recruited to college now-a-days. Give it time, the ethnic gaps at positions are being shortened (except any kicking position).

They're not. You can dispute it all you want but those are the numbers on LBs and ends. LBs its about 80% black players though - so its not as extreme as the other ones.. DE is a little closer to 83% or so I believe.

The bolded statement is way off. It has nothing to do with what position they aspire to play. If I were a kid I would aspire to play any position that could get me a scholarship in college or to the NFL. There's not a lot of white DBs for a reason in the NFL - and it has nothing to do with what position they wanted to play as a kid. Matt Jones didn't seem to mind making a nice paycheck to switch from QB to WR even though QB was his life long position.

Nunes can keep it on the West Coast with Stanford. We'll have Petty and Boyd coming in next year then the year after Kiffin will pull a big arm out if he doesn't steal one away this year....he still has 61 recruiting days left... Coach and the staff are going to be earning some serious air miles between now and then.

Go Get'em Lane!

I'm just curious, are we hyping boyd over nunes because the scouting reports/ rivals, et. al, have said he's better, or are we doing the "he chose our school" makes him a better player thing?

I'm personally hyping Boyd over Nunes because Boyd didn't falter even after the firing and Nunes got scared away by the boos at the UF game...

But if I had to guage it I would say the feelings on here about Boyd vs. Nunes are roughly 1/2 excitement over Boyd's stats and highlight reels, 1/4 good feelings about Boyd staying committed in the face of adversity(Fulmer's firing), and 1/4 ill feelings over Nunes decommitting

We don't want to sound the Kentucky fans that now think Hopson is a total waste of a scholarship and is the worst player to come through the state - and how Darius Miller is all world.

I love the fact they claim Hopson couldn't even win Kentucky player of the year award - there was a good reason for that - politics - since he didn't commit to the Wildcats and Miller did. Sorry, rant over.

If you had paid attention I'm pretty sure I said the same thing as you did in the bolds. You disagree with with me and thats fine, but you offer no alternate explination, so i'll just go with mine.

Which post are you referring to? I must have skipped over it.

And I offered plenty of explanation imo. It doesn't seems as simple as it is - but what can you say? Black people are just generally better athletes and that's why they dominate basketball and football. You don't have to be that great of an athlete to play center and QB - it does help though..

The slower positions in general have a greater number of white people (offensive line is generally made up of about 40-50% white people)... and the more athletic and fast you have to be the less there are at that position in the pros - see RBs and DBs.

What? I'm just looking at percentages. There are good white players that play WR/RB/CB... just because they're white doesn't mean they can't be - its just more rare.

No Thanks Nunes. You had your chance, you missed out. Now Tahj will be a superstar, and nunes will be a 2 year starter, no name for a very mediocre program.

No need to really bad mouth Nunes. Yea, he decommitted, but we'll move on just fine.

If it was his dream to play for Stanford or whatever - I don't blame him. I'm happy for him. If that's not the case - then oh well... he made his decision.

It was a joke. Boxing is the sport we have the least amount of success in.

I wonder if Nunes still doesn't know that UT located on the east. I bet he has a great time at Stanford! I will pull for him in only 1 game a year and thats against the Trojans.

Kiss my :shaking2: Nunes

Apparently he is wavering according to my stanford buddy who is very dialed in. Maybe kiffen can get him back. Not sure exactly why he isn't solid, but by all accounts Harbaugh wants out of stanford bad and is a possibility for both the chargers and 49ers jobs.

Im willing to bet that Harbaugh wont be for two more years. He will parlay the moderate success he's had into a much better job.
